liz earle cleanse & polish

liz earle cleanse polish liz earle skin tonic
100ml Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish £13.25
200ml Liz Earle Skin Tonic Spritzer £12

Liz Earle is one of those brand that seem to go around the blogasphere, They send out alot of free products so therefore alot of people seem to rave about them. I'm always a little skeptical when brands do-do (lol) the rounds in the blogasphere because you never really know for sure.

I bought these from John Lewis when I was in London a few weeks ago, the girl who served me was really lovely (she even said she followed my blog too! Hi!!) and she knew what I wanted before I even asked! Basically I'm so lazy when it comes to taking my makeup off. I hate that tight/dry feeling you get with makeup wipes and most eye-makeup removers hurt my sensitive eyes. I occasionally (alot) do the ultimate skincare faux pas and "forget" to take my makeup off before I go to bed. It all seems a bit easier to do it all blurry-eyed and in the morning!

When applying I do my cheeks, nose & foreheard first, then do the eyes, which generally leaves me looking like panda. But I do wear alot of eye makeup! It doesnt hurt when you apply it onto your eye area, which really surprised me.  Then gently buff your face with a muslin cloth. Pat the skin dry and spritz with the Skin Tonic, The result is really soft, super clean and as super lame as it sounds "radiant"! It literally takes about 3 mins from start to finish. Perfect for lazy people like me!

I would 100% buy the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish again, I've never said that about a skincare product. I'm in two minds about the Skin Tonic as I'm not even sure what it does. I've never understood the importance of toner! I REALLY wish I'd bought this sooner, I know its a bloggers favourite but I do totally see why now! As far as the price goes I think its reasonable, I know Liz Earle do various sizes on their website so you can always buy a small bottle just to try it out!
(My skin for reference: I have oily/combo skin, relatively good skin in terms of breakouts and spots, slight scarring on my chin. I have a very uneven olive and warm toned skin with very pink toned cheeks. Im a MAC NW15 without tan and generally wear foundation this colour then bronze up with bronzer if needed!)
Other reviews: here, here, here & here

  1. I've always been so tempted to try the Cleanse & Polish but most of the reviews come from people who got them as freebies so I wasn't sure whether to believe the hype haha!

Have you tried the camomile eye make up remover from Body Shop? It removes the most stubborn eye make up and just feels like water if you get it right in your eye! It's really gentle too and doesn't irritate the skin around your eye at all.

  2. i always see bloggers rave about this but i always presume it's biased because they got it as a freebie. may have to check out the Liz Earle range in duty free later :-)

  3. I've been using cleanse and polish for over 10 years, before it was so popular so I really can say, it's an amazing product. Personally I think toners and tonics are unnecessary.

  4. Liz really does do her rounds!lol! The HCC is worth the hype though, since mine ran out my skin seems so crappy! "/ xxx

  5. I've not tried it but quite a few trustworthy bloggers have sung its praises and also people like you who paid for it themselves so I think it's really worth the hype. Will definitely be picking up a bottle when I'm next in the UK! xx

  6. I love this cleanser, and really swear by it for keeping my skin soft... know what you mean with the toner, I've got the spritz version too and rarely use it to be honest, when I do I twist the spritz bit off and pour into a cotton wool pad instead!

  7. I've got very sensitive skin. I tried a lot of products but many did hurt my eyes and felt dry after using it.

but now i've got a perfect cleaner from vichy, i think the 3 in 1 or something like that. But that product is so good, it doesn't hurt at all, the cleaning is very good and my skin feels very soft!

I really like that product and i don't see myself using another cleaner :) x

  8. I have a combination skin and tend to break out on my t-zone area which is a real pain. I was thinking of buying the cleaner but I've bought pricey products before and they haven't worked as well as the reviews, so I'm a little in two minds.

  9. I've heard amazing things about this, but I think I'm too set in my ways with my Clinique 7 Day Scrub!

  10. In this months vogue if you subscribe you get x2 bottles of the cleanse and polish for FREE! Bargain at £12 subscription! X

  11. Hello!!
Its was me that served you, glad you are enjoying the cleanser. It was lovely to meet you. x

  12. No skincare product that I've ever tried has been as good as the Liz Earle stuff. And I've tried a lot of products because my skin is fairly shitty. Shame that I live in Australia and it isn't sold in any stores here! I have to get it shipped over. Worth it!

  13. i cant wait to try this out i'm just trying to be good and use up all my other bits first :(

  14. Wow, I really want to try this! I'm the same as you and rarely take off my make up until the morning. It's a really good price too I think - for a good product I think it would be worth it x

  15. I bought it after seeing it on a Youtube beauty channel, and it's so good, my bottle has lasted for ages. I don't really know about the toner either, it's more of a peace of mind that i've got all the cleanser off thing, cause if any cleanser is left on your skin it breaks you out instantly!!x
