nails: ebayIf my blogs known for anything its probably my Ombre Hair, to the point where I actually put it on my business cards. Initially decided to try the Ombre nails trend for my Graduation day using pinks which I really loved, So I thought I'd do it again for this weeks nails! Obviously used my fake nails from eBay, painted them first and then stuck 'em on. I know this tends to confuse people that I paint before I apply, but they come on little sticks like this so its so easy to paint, decorate with nail art, wait for them to dry then volia. Instant long, manicured unsmooshed nails!
I used a Barry M nail varnish for the first time in ages for this look and boy was I dissapointed. The one I used took ages to properly and then still smooshed a little after using a decent topcoat (Seche Vite). I don't know if its because they are a little old but now I remember WHY I stopped getting them. I think Barry M really need to up their game a little bit, Models Own Polishes come in way more colours, dry much quicker and last alot longer (in my opinon, dont be pugnacious!). They might be a little pricier, not gonna lie I'm gifted alot of my Models Own polishes, as they are total goodybag staple, but I really prefer them over alot of other nail polish brands. I bought alot of their polishes myself in the Models Own Sale which I'm so excited to use!

Your nails look so gorgeous! I agree with you about Barry M polishes! xx
ReplyDeleteI love this ombre nails it's really cute :)
ReplyDeleteI love these, the colours are great! :)x
ReplyDeleteFinally found somebody who dislikes Barry M nail polishes lol! All my friends love them but for me they take WAAAY too long to dry and as you say 'smoosh' alot, they annoy me so much! I recently tried Model's Own for the first time and so far I am impressed, they dry quite quick! Ciate are really good also:)
ReplyDeleteAwesome nails!! I love it.

i love this look :) i did this a few months ago (but with all pinks and a white) as well but with all barry m, and now ive discovered models own ive realised how bad barry m can be and how long it takes to dry!
ReplyDeleteI love your ombre nails :)
ReplyDeleteI love your nail posts, they're always looks I never would have thought of doing! What nail glue do you use to stick on the nails after you're painted them?
ReplyDeleteWhat will you ombre next

ReplyDeleteBarry M has well and truely fallen behind in the game! Models own is top of the charts now!

Such a cool idea, will definitely be trying it. I agree with the Barry M comment-all mine tend to dry out and become very sticky and unusable very quickly, so frustrating!
ReplyDeleteMairi x
Totally agree about Barry M.. I'm definitely a models own girl! I love ombre nails, I tried it once but didn't really have any decent colours so it turned out pretty shit!

I've not tried any models own polishes yet surprisngly, as I've always felt a bit loyal to Barry M, although I agree they can be disappointing. I am in love with my models own nail art pen however, so will definitely be biting the bullet come payday and buying some models own, some of the glittery shades look so gorgeous

I much prefer Models Own nail varnishes too and I got very overexcited and bought 10, ha! I felt really chuffed because in the sale they were cheaper than Bary M!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fab idea, I'm so trying this out!! <3
ReplyDeleteI tried to do this with blue the other day but I need one more blue!

I love ombre nails! I've done them a few times, they're different :)
ReplyDeleteI think I'm starting to prefer Models Own to Barry M actually, even though I have a ton of Barry M polishes. Models Own's definitely dry quicker, and they do deals so often that it's sometimes cheaper anyway!

Your nails look lovely, I think I may try the false nail trick! You're so right about Barry M, their nail varnishes are so disappointing compared to similar brands. I honestly prefer Tesco's own VIVO £1 polishes to Barry M now xxx
ReplyDeleteI love this! And I agree about Barry M, their nail polishes seem a bit overrated xx
ReplyDeletethese look amazing, im not sure i have enough colours in the same family to do it myself though :D

Those nails look amazing! Think I may have to try that out at some point. Models Own nail varnishes are my new fave, bought a few in the sale and I love them! xo
ReplyDeleteI hate Barry M, I only buy them if there's a colour ripped off from an expensive brand and even then I know I'll have to repaint a hundred times. I find they chip really quickly as well as smudging easily.
ReplyDeletethey look prettyyy, i think you got the variety of shades spot o!
ReplyDeleteI love Barry M but I do agree they're a bit too gloopy (which is why they don't dry as quickly). I just love their colours though...
ReplyDeleteYour nails looks fab xx
ReplyDeleteOooh love this idea! xxx

They look so good!
ReplyDeleteTotes agree about Barry M, after a gold nailvarnish stained my nails bright yellow I decided never to use them again!!
ReplyDeleteI think they look wicked! Such a good idea :) I like your word 'unsmooshed', my friend recently enlightened me in the fact that the proper word for 'smooshed' nails is squeeble. Thought you might like to know!

Your nails look amazing! I love the pink to peach transition. I don't buy Barry M because it's not sold where I live, but I'm glad that I have not because bad quality really sucks :/ Quality over quantity.. one of my favorite mottos!
