MUA Nail Varnish Shade 23: Superdrug (£1)
I dont really know much about MUA as a brand, my usual beauty snobbery makes me ignore all the cheapy stuff. However my local MUA stand is right by the door of Superdrug, so I spotted this khaki shade as soon as I walked in. I'd been looking for khaki colour polish since that Les Khakis de Chanel collection from last year (god doesnt time fly!). But I know its not a colour I'd wear often as I tend to wear pink nails!
The bottles quite small and the packaging isnt horrendous, but the label isnt stuck on straight and its all bubbly. Which made it really hard to photograph the packaging, but I'll look past that as its only a quid. The brush is small, which I think makes it feel hard to work with, But its not unusable and doesnt make it streaky. It needed two coats and had a pretty average drying time, no different from most highstreet brands (for example Barry M). Cant say how long the wear time is as I've been using Seche Vite over it and I generally change my nails every few days! It fills my need for a khaki colour in my nail polish collection and is hardly expensive for a polish I'd probably not wear that often. I'll file this under, not bad for a quid!

It doesn't look as nice in the bottle but looks lovely on!
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit miffed the superdrug in town doesn't stock MUA even though it's relatively big but I really hope I can get my hands on some polishes and the Heaven&Earth palette soon. xo
I don't think I have ever come across a shade of nail polish like this. I really like this khaki shade, even if the packaging is a little cheap/crooked label? it's what's on the inside that counts, right? I'd buy this because it's much cheaper than the Chanel polishes, although those have a pretty good quality.
ReplyDeleteM.
Ah this is like the Stranger Tides one by OPI. Might have to get it as a backup!
ReplyDeleteI love this!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of a more wearable version of opi's stranger tides

ReplyDeleteI'm so tempted by this colour every time I walk in, I've never looked at it closely enough to see if it's shimmery though - by the looks of it it's fairly matte so I might give it a try! x

I like is a lot. Essie has a khaki shade I've been looking at. To me the packing is the exact same as Chanel. Just change the label and add a few Cs.

ReplyDeleteI actually like the colour on. Looking at the bottle, the packaging and the colour is not something I would be drawn to yet it does look lovely on and thats coming from someone thats not a green/khaki polish fan - great post!
ReplyDeleteFor a pound it seems good, especially if it doesn't go streaky x
