Origins Out of Trouble Mask: selfridges/origins (£19)
Origins Out of Trouble mask is a smooth cream facial mask, The product glides onto the skin with ease, it feels slightly tingly on the skin but soon calms down. It feels very soothing and therapeutic as its sulfur/zinc oxide/camphor based product, and it really does have a strong camphor smell. This actually doesn't personally bother me too much but it is very prominent. I use the Out of Trouble once a week after I've cleansed and exfoliated my skin, or every few days on the affected area when I do get a breakout. The mask dries up the area, mattifys my skin, makes my skin feel softer and brighter and calms any redness. I can see a big difference in the way my skin looks after using it. It by no means is a "one night wonder", your spots don't disappear the next day, but I can definitely see the difference after using this. I think this is the only mask I've tried that actually did something beneficial to my skin.
Since adding this to my skincare routine my skin has calmed down alot and breakouts been much less frequent. Infact, currently my whole skincare routine is Origins and I can honestly say do really like my skin at the moment. Its not cheap, but a little goes a long way and I personally think skincare is something worth splashing out on. I can't really rave about it enough to be honest!
Skincare Disclaimer: I personally think skincare is incredibly subjective, I'd never run out and buy something on the recommendation of one person. What works for me, might not work for you. Remember to always look up other reviews and make sure you reference the reviewers skin type. My skin is Oily-Combination, I don't tend to get breakouts but when I do they are on my chin. Also cutting out dairy from my diet has also improved my skin of late.

ahhhh i love the origins mega mushroom, and in fact all origins products so def would love to try this next!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds great! I don't suffer from many breakouts but have annoying skin with some slightly oily patches but also some that are very dry. I love the Origins Checks and Balances cleanser which really helps when my skin is feeling a bit more on the oily side or if I have any spots so perhaps that's something to try? I always find the people helpful at the Origins Counter too! The lady at the John Lewis one on Oxford Street is also really nice :) x

I've heard so much good stuff about Origins, might have to go in to one of their counters and see what they suggest! This mask sounds really great! xx
ReplyDeleteI was tempted by this the other day. I too have oily/combo skin and am prone to spots on the chin more so during the time of the month. Id be interested to here how this improve skin over a period of time?
ReplyDeleteWhat is your current origin skincare routine?
ReplyDeletegreat review, i just am about to try it out tonight.
*I'd love to see a skincare routine post too! :)
Deletei will be doing one eventually, i just need to review everything from it first, Im sure it will be up sometime soon. but like i said, what works for me may not work for you, i don't feel comfortable recommending skincare products if I'm honest!
DeleteHeard a lot about the dairy diet and cutting out on dairy products from youtube etc and I'm considering doing the same to see if it might help my skin! I really want to try some of the origins products. Maybe you could do a blogpost featuring all the products you use in your skincare regime! :) xx
ReplyDeleteDreams and Dresses
I used to wear inches of make up and fall asleep with it on all the time, I now use the tiniest bit of foundation and mascara and have terrible skin! Such a pain but I may have to look into buying this if it's helped you out x
ReplyDeletesame! its so strange how skin changes over time! i often wonder why i pay hundreds of pounds on my face when it looked fine before!
DeleteI love Origins! Not tried this mask yet but it's on my wish list.
ReplyDeleteGreat review, thanks!
xo
Origins seems to be quite a popular skincare brand lately and it's making me even more tempted to go out and purchase some. My skin sounds very similar to yours so I might do a bit more research about this mask and then possibly purchase this :)

i can't sing the praises of origins enough at the moment, its such a good brand!
Deleteooh this sounds really good. It sounds like I have the same kinda skin type to you so I may give this a try xx
ReplyDeleteyour skin always looks flawless!. I've heard so many great things origins going to have to do some more research into it! great post x
ReplyDeleteits my makeup that does that unfortunately! my skin isn't too bad, it was really bad for a while when I first moved to London, but under the makeup its not perfect!
DeleteI don't usually do any skin care because my skin is clear but I've started to up my game! Totally agree about everyone's skin being individual and products not suiting. I am so allergic to many products! Especially expensive ones it seems...
ReplyDeletevictoriasprocrastinationproject.blogspot.co.uk
I'm allergic to alot of products too, especially scented ones so hence why I try and choose ones that are fragrance free or ones that have "safe" natural ingredients! herbal essences shampoo nearly ruined my scalp as it was way too fragrant!
DeleteMine arrived today, can't wait to try it out. Hopefully it will help me control my breaks out. I also normally break-out on the chin (mostly when I try new foundations or skincare products). x
ReplyDeleteI love origins, especially their ginger stuff it smells soo good! I've been trying to cut out dairy too, Oatly do a lovely chocolate oat drink which you can heat up its soo good! x
ReplyDeleteMay have to try this out!
