Caudalié SOS Thirst Quenching Serum: feel unique (£26.10 for 30ml, sample size pictured)*
While my skin is not dry as such, I often think its quite dehydrated. I do not get flakey skin or any of the usual signs of dry skin as my skin often feels a bit tight and uncomfortable, as if it is crying out for moisture. Most of the time I don't use skincare that I get in beauty boxes. I prefer buying something that is right for my skin type rather than potluck with is beauty sample boxes. However in the April 2012 Glossy Box (The Natural Box) there was a sample of the Caudalié Thirst Quenching Serum which sounded quite promising. I've tried a few other Caudalié skincare samples in the past: as well as the "blogger famous" Caudalié Beauty Elixir, all of which I've had fairly positive experiences testing out.
I don't use this as a serum and just use it as a regular moisturiser. I typically use Origins Zero Oil lotion morning and night, but I swapped it out for the Caudalié SOS Thirst Quenching Serum in the evenings over the past week to check out. I think it immediately made my skin feel soft and hydrated. My skin drank up the moisture, and my face feels plump, soft and smooth. The Serum feels extremely light on the skin and doesn't make it wet or tacky because it sinks into the face fairly quickly. As my skin isn't dry all of the time, I prefer to use lighter moisturisers during the day so I don't enhance the oily areas of my face. I think by using this at night it gives my skin a chance to take in some of the moisture that it clearly wants.
I think this is something I'd consider buying full size in the future, but I've just bought the Origins Drink Me Up Overnight Mask to try out so this will have to go on my list of things to buy in the future. Although it is quite a pricey product at £26 for 30ml, its one of those products that work for me so I'd consider getting it again. Caudalié is a brand is worth looking into if your interested in higher end skincare. They have a variety of different skincare items for different skin types. If you got this in your Glossy Box last month I highly recommend digging it out! I think this would suit skin like mine, dehydrated rather than dry. I think dry skin would literally drink it all up and not really have all the benefits it has with my skin!
Skincare Disclaimer: I personally think skincare is incredibly subjective. I'd never run out and get something on the suggestion of one person. What works for me, may not work for you. I personally don't feel comfortable recommending skincare products, so all reviews are based on my own experiences with the product mentioned. Remember to look up other reviews and make sure you reference the reviewers skin type. My skin is Oily-Combination. I don't tend to get breakouts, but when I do they are on my chin. Also, cutting out dairy from my diet has also improved my skin of late.
