Eyebrow Threading

my original brows, three weeks growing out and not filled.

after two visits & filled

Eyebrow Threading by Feroza

My brows are one of my most praised and most complained about features. Some people love them some people hate them (Scouse brows much?) I also have a love hate relationship with brows. It's taken me years to get them to the shape they are now, They still need work, and Im constantly losing a fighting battle to get them to not be so far apart. But Im getting there slowly but surely! Im lucky that I'm blessed with a strong natural eyebrow shape as well as quite thick, dark brows, but the front is very sparse and grows in the wrong direction. I recently went and got my brows threaded by Feroza at the Skin Health Spa which is near Liverpool Street Station. She's there on Wednesdays but the rest of the week she is at her Salon in Covent Garden.

I normally get my brows done in shopping centres, department stores or random shops in Tooting (£3 for a eyebrow threading!). All leave me with sore red brows and my eyes watering so I have to swiftly go straight home after I get them done. Feroza on the other hand is a brow expert. She sat me down and explained everything behind threading and how she does it. I've never had anyone talk to me about threading, Normally Im plonked down and threaded within 5 seconds of saying I want my brows done. I always wrongly assumed Threading was an Indian art but it actually originates from China but was then popularised later in India. Feroza even told me that her sister was one of the first people to offer Threading in London. Feroza explained to me exactly what was wrong with my brows, telling me about little things that the other threaders had done wrong and explained how she was going to fix them. Like I said the main problem is that they are too far apart, but then she explained that the hair in my brows is also growing in the wrong direction which is making them look less full at the front. Which is probably from them being trimmed too much and not being shaped correctly.

Feroza works very lightly, In my experience threading really aggravates my brows and I end up with sore red swollen eyebrows as I leave the salon. If I get it done in shopping centres I always run straight off home because they look so bad! I actually experienced little to no pain after getting them done. She reshaped my brows and told me where I need to grow out my brows. I have been to Feroza to get my brows done since my initial meeting with her at the Skin Health Spa and I really can't praise her or her work enough. I'd rather splash out on getting my brows done by her than pay a few pounds for a eyebrow threading experience that really hurts and ruins the shape of my brows. As I mentioned I'm SO lucky to have a strong natural brow shape but Feroza claims she can sort out anyone's in three to four sessions. If you're in the Central London area I highly recommend going to her as she is now the only person I trust with my eyebrows!
Like I mentioned, I originally got my brows done for free at the Skin Health Spa on Liverpool Street, but have since paid for treatments with Feroza. You can see her website with all the treatments offered here or give her a call to book an appointment on 07958017776

  2. Whenever I go to get my eyebrows done I'm always a bit wary, I've had them done completely wrong before and it's always great when you trust someone that much to do a good job and feel safe in their hands! Great post x

  3. Your eyebrows look great, I have always thought so. I always find if you're in too much pain the threader is doing something wrong. There are so many out there it's hard to find a good one!xx

  5. Ah they're looking great. Brows are one of the things I notice first about a person mainly because I'm not keen on my own xx

  6. They look so good after - i love the shape and thickness! I need mine desperately reshaping, and i've always done mine myself, but will have to get mine done by her when i'm next in London. :-)

  7. I only started getting my eyebrows threaded about 3months ago and will never look back. You get a more precise shape than you do with waxing or tweezing. Luckily I've found a lady who does a fantastic job in my local area, I think once you've found someone who understands how you want your brows to look you've hit gold.

  9. I've been having my eyebrows threaded for a couple of years now and I love it. My shape has changed so much to a really good strong brow, but it's a pain how quickly my brows grow back :( x

  10. I'm too scared to try threading, I know waxing is quite bad for you but I have such sensitive eyes and brows that everything goes majorly red and watery eyes! Shame I don't live in London but will look into this! xo

  11. I have a love hate relationship with threading. I went to one and they did it perfectly and then I took advice from a friend and went to a different one and they literally whipped them all off. I think the key is finding a threader that you trust usually by good recommendation and seeing the way they have done others. I shall def try it again although at the moment I am trying to grow them to a reasonable shape so that they have something to work with. I think with eyebrows some people are going to love some are going to hate but at the end of the day its your face and you have to find a look that you are happy with!

  17. Even after you grow them in to how you want, do you think you will still fill them in a bit?

  18. Your brows look fantastic, I have quite a nice natural brow shape but I still get them threaded quite often in Superdrug for £5 and find that it's not sore or aggravating, but I might just be lucky because my mum was the complete opposite!x

  19. wow the difference is incredible! your brows are such a nice shape, I'm so jealous as I'd love a strong brow but mine are nowhere near as thick as i'd like them! i recently went for HD brows which I loved, it seems like it's quite a similar experience to what you had done in the way its more of a treatment than a quick wax and you're off type thing!xx

  20. I get mine threaded but it is SO painful I'm thinking of switching to waxing, don't know if I'd be disapointed with the results though. Your eyebrows look great, I'd definitely try Feroza if I lived in London!x

  23. I have the same dilemma with mine. I used to hate them, but so glad I didn't pluck them to oblivion! I live in tooting, so always go that place that does them for £3 - bargain! x

  24. i didn't know that eyebrow threading wasn't painful if done right, when i got mine done it really hurt and it went bright red like yours but i just thought that was the reaction of getting it done but now i think i am going to next time go to the salon and get a professional on them, thank you so much for this very informative post it has really helped me out xx

  25. I've always thought you have beautiful eyebrows. My eyebrows are the biggest bane of my beauty life - naturally thick, but straight and quite low to my eyes. I have sorted them out myself but because they sit so low on my face I pluck them quick slim to get them away from my eyes and make me look less manly! haha. I really should stop being so stubborn and let a professional do them - but not in a shopping centre. Thank you for that advice!

Threading is a unique technique using cotton thread to remove unwanted facial hair with relatively less pain and precision to give the clean look that can’t be achieved by waxing or tweezing.
Sugar wax is a type of wax used in some waxing salons that actually contains wax, this does not and is a separate process in itself.
