MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural in Lightscapade: MAC Cosmetics (£19.50)
worn with fashionista juicy peach

Lightscapade is one of those products that "got away", I remember when it first came out (I think with the Danse collection?) and I wanted it so badly, but funds were alot tighter back then so it sadly passed me by. Like alot of MAC stuff it generally is released at some point (even if it takes years!). So when I heard Lightscapade was coming back I jumped at the chance to get it back in my life!

Lightscapade was released with the MAC Reel Sexy collection as one of their many summer launches and I thought it was about time I caved in and got it. MAC describes Lightscapade as a "soft candlelit beige with multi-dimensional shimmer". It's a pale white-beige highlighter, with subtle blue, yellow and pinky veining. The texture is very soft as mineralised skin finishes tend to be really finely milled. It has a very subtle shimmer thats neither to glittery or too metallic. I think it's fairly sheer, but as it's a highlighter you aren't really looking for something that adds too much colour. I don't feel like Lightscapade enhances my pores or fine lines and has a really lovely finish.

I personally really like mineralised skin finishes from MAC. Stereo Rose and By Candlelight are two of my all time favourite blushes and highlighters but they have both hit pan so are being rationed. This is a nice addition to my collection, but I wouldn't say it's a must have. I think the older ones looked so much nicer than the rereleased stuff, There was alot more veining and colours going through rather than being predominantly beige. It's a shame it's not as nice as the original looks wise, but it's a good product. I bought this ages ago and sort of forgot about it!

  6. i've got the original one that came out years ago and its still going strong even though i use it all the time! as well as the veining being different i think the product looks completely different as a whole. you can really see the blue and pink tones once its applied to your skin so it gives you this awesome ethereal look. i wish they'd bring back the original one as i'd love a backup xx

  8. I bought this a few months ago from an outlet store near me, I was just thinking that the veining on mine is a lot more noticeable? I don't think the blue/pink bits show up anymore than the rerelease does. I didn't think much of it, but going by what you've just said I'd assume that mine was from the previous time it was rereleased. It is a lovely highlight though, I like that its quite sheer and isn't too overpowering or anything! xx

  9. I really really want to try some MSFs. I've always used high beam as a highlight but these seem much better value xx

  10. I love my MSF in Soft and Gentle, at first I thought it would be really shimmery, almost too glittery. But once it sets in to your skin and if you don't go overboard with the application it highlights so well. And I have found that they last forever! Really worth the price.

  11. It looks nice but for that price there are definitely better highlighters available!
sucks that it's not the same as the original! x

  13. I picked this out of my makeup drawers last night, weird coincidence! I like that it's kinda subtle, easy to go OTT if you're wearing blusher and bronzer too!

  20. I have this and really like it - it's my first MAC Mineralise Skinfinish (I'm not sure how I've gone all this time without getting one). I really like the highlight shade, as I'm pretty pale so some shades of MSF are too dark to be used as a highlight on me and are more suitable as a blush.

I do agree with you though about the older MSFs looking much nicer. I've seen pictures online of Lighscapade MSF when it was originally released and it looks so much prettier and has very prominent blue veining, whereas the re released ones are much more beige and don't have as prominent blue veining :(.
