Pink Toned
Lush Emotional Brilliance is a simple, translucent, lightweight light reflecting face powder. It's very finely milled and applies easily to the face to give a soft focus natural to glowy finish. Emotional Brilliance Trnaslucent Face Powder has a slight pink tone too it, but once applied you can't see this at all so I think it would suit a variety of skin tones. Rather than being a glittery illuminating powder it simply brings radiance to the skin. I think the packaging is odd, With loose powder products I tend to use large fluffy powder brushes but these simply wont fit into the packaging. I know the Lush makeup range seems to have stuck with the same style of packaging for their range but it simply doesn't make sense with this product.
I do like the Lush Emotional Brilliance Translucenet Powder it leaves my skin shine free and works really well at setting my makeup. It doesn't oxidise on the skin or leave it look chalky and give the skin a white cast. Emotional Brilliance won’t dry the skin out, as it contains lots of softening jojoba oil that allows the pigments to be delivered onto the skin very smoothly, without dryness. Jojoba oil is also exceptionally nourishing for the skin and creates an excellent protective barrier between your face and the elements.
I do generally find loose powders a bit too messy and even more so with this one as the functionality of the packaging isn't there. I think this powder would work best on combination skin as it's very soft and doesn't feel chalky on my dry areas or build up too much on my oiler ones. As it's Lush it's cruelty free, vegan and not tested on animal. In all it's not the best powder I've used and it's not the worst, It hasn't wowed me but I think if your looking for more enviomentally friendly items then this could be for you. It does a good job and is a pretty good product. I think the packaging should be changed a bit though!

I had no idea lush had branched out that far into makeup! Thats awesome :D

I also had no idea Lush had makeup like this!
ReplyDeleteI think the packaging could be saved with a small plastic topper with holes it in like the Bare Minerals products, then you could dispense a little into the lid and buff it on from there.

I think the whole makeup range suffers from poor packaging! The applicators for some of the other items don't even reach to the bottom of the pots! xo
ReplyDeleteI was really excited about Lush's new range but definitely agree with you about the packaging. The product sounds great being vegan and animal cruelty free, but lets it self down because of how small the pot is! Really lovely and interesting review xx
ReplyDeleteI never knew LUSH had those kind of products! Your blog shows me so many new things :D
ReplyDeleteI just love the name.
ReplyDeleteI was a bit skeptical of the lush makeup range, but I'm glad to hear that you like this! Might need to give it a shot! Thanks for sharing Lily :)

I haven't tried anything from the Lush range yet but by the sounds of it they've failed on packaging with a lot of the make-up!
ReplyDeleteI'm always trying to make my make-up bag a little more furry friends friendly so I'm definitely going to give it a whirl. Annoying about the packaging though - I smear my makeup all over EVERYTHING I OWN at the best of times.
