soft natural brows

I haven't used a brow pencil in years, but ended up picking one up a few weeks ago on a Laura Mercier binge in John Lewis. I was matched to the shade Warm Brunette, which was the correct match for my old hair colour, although it's a touch too dark for my new hair so I need to get a shade down. Despite this it matches my natural brow colour very well it just needs to be a different tone for my hair. I always think of pencils as being way too harsh, however this Laura Mercier one is perfect as it's very soft, blendable and creamy and you can create really soft natural brow with definition. It doesn't look like you've drawn them on with a Sharpie either! I love that this pencil has no red or charcoal undertones either it's very neutral. I think a lot of the high street ones (and high end ones!) tend pull too red or dark which dont look right on most shades of brunette.

When using the Laura Mercier Brow Pencil to fill my brows in I use light strokes at the front and then elongate them slightly. Then give them a quick brush through with a mascara wand (clean, obvz) to blend out the colour. Cant recommend this enough and I can see myself  using this for a long time. I didnt think I'd ever stray away from powder, but it's really changed my opinion of brow pencils! Although it is on the pricey side, but honestly it's wonderful and I haven't looked back since I bought it! My only problem is making sure I have a sharpener!

  1. I use the LM pencil in blonde and it's great. It's so soft and has lasted me for ages. I really like it and was a bit scared of using powders. I'd previously been using the MAC eyebrow pencil but it ran out so quickly, and then the Rimmel one but it def pulled red and gave me ginger brows ;/

  2. I've heard some great things about the LM pencil. I have to use pencils to fill my eyebrows in, they're so gappy and awful. I just hate when they're like crayon and leave loads of residue behind.

  11. i don't ever do anything to my eyebrows (other than pluck them) because i have such a lack of anything (?) there. they're so thin and so light it barely looks like i have any eyebrows which sucks! therefore i think adding any colour to them would just make me look stupid after all this time with almost nothing. however, this post has convinced me that maybe i need to go to a beauty counter and get checked out with a colour match to give it a go...
