a new "HG"?
It's funny how you can think you hate one product then try it again a few years down the line and completely fall in love with it. Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation was always something that I wanted to love but it just didn't work for me. When I tried it a few years ago I found it stiff, unblendable and cakey. It just simply didn't do anything for me. Flash forward to a few months ago I went shopping with Emma and Kate and I ended up picking it up again. Call me crazy but Im easily influenced so I bought it again despite this preconceived notion I wouldn't like it.
I picked up the shade Cashew Beige which is actually pretty dark (apparently!), but for some reason it works well on my olive toned skin, even more so when I'm tanned. The finish is a matte satin finish with a sort of glowy (not dewy but luminous) feel to it. It last's so well on the skin and I can actually wear it without the use of a powder which is pretty unheard of with my oily skin. However I do tend to finish it off with a light dusting of the Laura Mercier Mineral Powder in Real Sand. The coverage is probably medium but could be built up to full. Any marks, scarring, spots are completely covered with a soft natural but luminous finish. To apply I use a Real Techniques buffing brush and a use a pea sized ammount to cover my face. Less is more with this foundation! I do use a touch of concealer around my eyes but apart from that this is all I've been using.
Overall I think this Silk Creme is absolutely amazing, I really cant imagine using anything else. I know I'm a foundation junkie but honestly this is just a dream to use. I've worn it pretty much every single day since I bought it and I haven't suffered any breakouts or reactions to it. It works well on my oily skin and lasts all day long without needing a touch up. It is on the pricey side but I would repurchase this without even thinking about the hefty price tag (even for high end foundation)! Not to be someone on the hype train, but GO BUY THIS NOW.

defo getting this now!! xx
