another sample box

So you thought you'd heard the last of my thoughts on sample boxes? Well unfortunately not! I recently saw that The Fragrance Shop started their own sample box called the Discovery Box I decided to give it a go.  Up front they tell you that for £5 quarterly you get five perfume vials to test out and decide if you like. This comes packaged in a small navy box alongside £5 off vouchers for each fragrance and a detailed perfume guide to talk you through the scents. I love the booklet with all the notes and descriptions of the perfumes. I find things like this really interesting so it's nice to see some depth to the content in the box. Inclued in the Autumn Winter version of the Discovery Box are  Boss Nuit Pour Femme, Ralph Lauren Big Pony, Swarovski Edition, Paco Rabanne Lady Million and Lancome La Vie Est Belle.

For me personally, I love perfume and I especially enjoy trying new ones out so this is ideal for me. I like being able to try things out on my skin before committing to full size. While I know a lot of peoples gripes with sample boxes are the fact you get perfume vials for free.  Although I agree you can get them for free if you ask sometimes but in my experience staff in department stores are a little stingy with their samples unless you buy something in the first place.

I really like the idea even though I'm so over sample boxes these days. It's a bit different and something new to the beauty box table. It's a quarterly box and Im quite interested in seeing how things develop with this box so I think I will stay subscribed. I guess it depends how you feel on perfume samples and getting them for free or not!

  4. Most places in my town or around me, if you ask for a sample of a certain perfume, they spray a bit of the perfume onto a card (like a business card size) and give that to you. Which is pretty much useless because its going to smell completely different on you than a piece of freaking paper. You might aswell ask them to just spray it on your wrists if they're gonna do that. Its completely pointless.
I like to try a perfume for a few days first though before buying full size.

  6. I love perfume but wouldn't bother paying £5 for this, I'd much rather just go to Boots and try a tester if I'd like to try a scent. As I'm so fussy, some months I'd hate them all haha! XO

Please check out my blog, I've just started out and any comments or followers would mean the world to me <3

  7. This is a good idea, I've never been able to find a perfume I 100% like as in the shops the smell is already so overwhelming you can't really tell what you're sampling from what other people are sampling! Plus I think £5 four times a year is a good price too, especially compared to other boxes out there! :) xx

  11. I do love small perfume samples, I keep them in my handbag - but I'm quite adverse to paying for them when I can get some free from Debenhams! x
