I bought this on a whim one day after I'd left a friends house. I stumbled around Space NK for a bit before settling on this Bumble and Bumble Thickening spray, at a eye watering £21.50 (I didn't look a the price) I was a bit worried I wasn't going to like it. Designed to be a prep spray, you spray it into damp hair, work in and then blow dry your hair. I have pretty fine hair but alot of it, I try and use root boosters, volumising products and texturing paste to give it a little bit of oomph! This leaves my hair feeling big and thicker, albeit slightly on the dry side. I think the main ingredient is alcohol which tends to dry my hair out anyway. I have to admit that despite the fact I do use this pretty much everyday I don't love it. It gives me volume and texture but theres something about it that just simply doesn't wow me. Maybe something else I'll love will come along, but for now this will do! It's also worth mentioning that you can buy mini versions of this if you wanted to try this out without committing to a full size.

It's such a shame that you don't love this! I've been eyeing it up for such a while now!

I have the same hair as you by the sounds of it, very fine but alot of it! I'm always seeking out products that will give me a bit of volume, think i will be giving this one a miss at that price though!x

would you say this is better than the texture creme? trying to decide which one to get! x
ReplyDeleteThis sounds really good I'm always looking for things to thicken my hair. I used to use John Frieda's Thickening blow dry spray but that left my hair quite dry.

I also have very fine hair but lots of it! My hair really lacks in volume and I hate it but I don't think I could justify £21 haha x

I was going to try this, but the price does really put you off! Is there any product of there's that is a definite buy?

My hair 'situation' is similar to yours, I always feel like it goes flat so quickly because it's so fine :( definitely going to try thickening sprays! xo
ReplyDeleteI'm actually really glad you don't love this, as so many times people have gone on and on about how amazing a really pricey product is, leading to me going out and buying it, and ending up really disappointed! I sometimes think that it's a psychological thing - people think that because something is expensive and from a respectable brand that it MUST be amazing, and find themselves looking for things that aren't there, rather than analysing realistically.

I quite like this product, I find if you use it with the Bumble & Bumble styling creme it creates volume!

Uh-oh, alcohol!??!? I would never spray that in my hair since I have such fine hair anyways... thanks for the honest review :)

I don't think I could use anything that would dry my hair out, regardless of the other effects! Such a shame. x

I have yet to try Bumble and Bumble, but the price stops me everytime. I already have dry hair so this product definitely wouldn't be for me! x
ReplyDeleteI bought the mini on a whim and didn't love it. I just didn't feel like it did anything to my hair! I looove the (really) thickening serum though.

atleast the packaging is nice, if the product itself isn't!
ReplyDeletecome to think of it, i've never actually used a thickening hair product. the only hair products i've ever used is the obvious hair spray, and more recently hair oil. maybe this is something i need to get into, the realms of va va voom.
Always wondered about this! Helped so much :)

Have you ever tried solid shampoo bars? They give so much volume, however I do have thick hair (and a lot) but it really works!
ReplyDeleteI have tried this also and feels it makes my hair very dry. I have also tried the new Lush Sea Spray but this has the opposite effect of making hair limp. I have tried the tigi bed head volume range and this seems to work perfectly and keeps moisture in and shine + you get a blow dry and spray version. Dry shampoos are also a good cheaper option for a quick fix and give intense volume I like using the Lush No Drought smells amazing.

I'm not sure I could commit to something that would dry out my already dry hair. Hmph!

Dry hair is a no no for me, it's a shame because it sounds like its going to work wonders. Especially for the price!
