I mentioned this in a quick review but I thought I'd do a proper review of this as I'm actually really disappointed by it. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but this has to be one of the worst products I've been sent in a long time. Especially for something so high end/premium. The YSL Boreal Highlight Palette is a face highlighting powder in a bright white, slightly pink toned finely milled powder. It has no noticeable shimmer or glitter. The packaging is absolutely gorgeous, right down to the sequinned pouch the typical YSL packaging comes in. However it just doesn't show up on my skin at all. No matter what brush I used, no matter how much I packed on. All I felt it did was enhance my pores, make my skin look dry and cakey and just not very highlighted. Considering this is a whopping £40 I'd expect something a little bit more than what it is!

That's such a shame it was a let down considering how lovely the packaging is and how expensive it is! x
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame it isn't that great! I love the packaging though!

That's a shame, it does look quite chalky in the picture. I hate when products are a let down.

ReplyDeleteWow for £40 you would think it would be a lot better! Thanks for the heads up :D

ReplyDeleteThat's awful.. I'd expect so much more from YSL. At least you got a cute pouch out of it! x

Ooh er, it does look a wee bit chalky? That's such a shame - I'm always so disappointed in bad products from good brands, I'm not really sure what their excuse can be?! x

I'm looking for a good highlighter, but this doesn't seem to be it at all! Nars is a lot better it seems, I'm disappointed I normally love YSL beauty products

Too bad that this doesn't look (or sound) that great. YSL really does have beautiful packaging though so at least that's a plus :)

Thank you for such an honest review. I have to say that I was so disappointed with the YSL holiday collection in general this year. Last year on the other hand was amazing the highlighter I think it was called blanc terriblement or something was amazing. It's my 'going out at night' highlighter of choice and I'm always complimented on it. Xxx
ReplyDeleteI´m so glad you reviewed this product, because it was on my wishlist!! not anymore!

I tried it out yesterday...just saw your post and wanted to see if you had the same opinion as me. Chalky and pointless. Shame :(

I love that even though you were sent this to try out you are still completely honest with your reviews. Its such a shame that this was a let down seeing as the packaging is lovely. NARS The Multiple in Coppacabana (excuse my spelling) is a gorgeous highlighter and its cheaper than this x
ReplyDeleteN'aw that's dissapointing, on the brighter side the packaging is stunning! <3 xo
