I remember reading about the Boots Botanics Hot Cloth Cleanser a while ago on a few blogs. Botanics rebranded a few months ago and I managed to track this new version down. Like a few of the Botanics products they'd changed the formula so I didn't know if this new version would be good or not. I saw a lot of mixed comments, especially from those who'd tried and sworn by the old one saying that the new one wasn't very good. However this is purely based on my experience with the reformulated version.
To use you need to get a small ammount and work it into a dry face. Then take a wet hot cloth (it comes with one but a flannel would do!) and simply remove all the product from your face. It leaves my face feeling cleansed and refreshed without feeling tight or dry. The thick balm texture is great for the colder, dryer months as it doesn't leave you skin stripped of moisture. I do feel sometimes it can leave a little bit of a film behind but you can just keep scrubbing it off.
Personally I've really enjoyed using this, to the point where I've used every last scrap of it and featured in in my Empties video a while ago. I've moved onto a different makeup remover for the time being but I did really enjoy using this and would 100% recommend and repurchase it. It's such good value for money at £7.99 (usually on offer for a 1/3 off!) and lasts ages. Definitely a drug store gem!

I really like the sound of this, I think it would make my nightly routine fun, in a very sad kinda way. Adding it to my 'when the spending ban is over' list.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you posted this, I've been looking for a good cheap hot cloth cleanser for ages! As much as i love the Liz Earle/Sanctuary ones, they are a little out of budget for me :) xx
ReplyDeleteSamya Says - my fashion and beauty blog :)
I think I'll try this - I bought their eye makeup remover a few months ago for like 3 quid or something, and I'm so impressed - it's basically as good as the Clinique one I've been using for years! x

I'd never used the old Botanics so can't really compare it, but having used a few of their products I'm loving it! The facial oil is my holy grail in the winter months x
ReplyDeleteI think I'll try this out, I really need to have a better skincare regime this year

Next time I'm in England, I will pick this up. Looks great and it's fairly cheap too x
ReplyDeleteGlad you've posted this, because I've had my eye out for a hot cloth cleanser to maybe replace my Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish when it runs out, as it's so much to fork out for just for a cleanser!
ReplyDeleteI bought this after hearing you talk about it in your empties video! I'm hoping it can compete with my emma hardie as I hate paying so much for it. I've also tried champneys super rich cleansing balm and I think thats amazing if you wanted to try another cheaper option, thats around £13 :) and Caroline Hirons wrote a blog post on it many moons ago... anything with her approval I am off to the shop to buy straight away! :) xxxxx
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! I really enjoyed it. Might have to try it out too! <3 xo

I've always wanted to try this but is usually sold out so I picked up the No7 Hot cloth cleanser leaves my skin nice and smooth every time x

I really wanted to try this, but have been put off by the fact that loads of bloggers have said its not good in comparison to the old formula. You've made it sound quite tempting though! I'm using plain old Simple cleansing lotion to remove my makeup at the moment and it actually works quite well so I'm sticking with that for the moment.

I've been looking to try a hot cloth cleanser for some time now and was going to go for the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish but this seems like a great product to test out before taking the pricey plunge into Liz Earle!

I just bought this today! Ran out of Liz Earle cleanse and polish so thought I'd try a different one.
ReplyDeleteNina xx
I actually picked up the botanics brightening skincare set for £8 in the boots sale which was a cream cleanser, toner, day and night creams. It is a bit of a dupe for the Origins brightening products which I love but they are a tad pricey. Will have to try this balm too, botanics have got some lovely products atm! xx
ReplyDeletewas just wondering, since you mentioned origins, if the toner from this range is anything like the origins toners? if you've tried them that is...i adore the origins United State toner but at £17 a bottle its a little pricey for a student budget! would love a cheaper alternative
DeleteThanks in advance :) xx
I really like the Superdrug hot cloth cleanser xx
ReplyDeleteravingbeautyx.blogspot.co.uk
A cheap alternative to Liz Earle perhaps?
ReplyDeleteI may have to give this a go!
