Sugar Crush Body Wash: £6.50
simply the zest….?Funny enough, I haven't actually tried anything from Soap and Glory before this. Everyone and their Mum gets that* Soap and Glory gift set for Christmas but I never have! I read some review of the Sugar Crush Body Wash and I really liked the sound of the scent. Zesty, Cirtrusy and bursting with lime, Sounds good right. I looked in shops for weeks for this before caving in and ordering it from the Boots online store and patiently awaited it arrival. I like the creme formula, it lathers up nicely on a bath puff and feels really nice on the skin. However the scent is ridiculously sweet, like the sweetest thing I've ever sniffed and my nostrils actually couldn't work out if they liked it or not. The sweetness mixed with lime is just way too much for me, it's too overpowering and overwhelming and slightly nauseating to some degree. I love lime (Lime cheesecake is my favourite EVER!) and I like sweet scents but this is just too much.
I'm undecided. I'll more than likely use this whole thing up but I definitely wouldn't buy it again. I wish I hadn't bought it so blind, but you live and you learn! Maybe I should try more Soap and Glory stuff out but the branding just doesn't appeal to me! We'll see!

I LOVE SOAP GLORY !

I personally love the smell of this but get why some people think it is over powering. I love the righteous butter from soap and glory, maybe try that(:

That's a shame you didn't like it, try the smoothie star body milk or maybe foam call or something like that, they both smell a lot different to this!

I've heard lots about this on blogs and YouTube and it's meant to be amazing! It does sound a bit sweet though! x
ReplyDeletei love quite a few soap and glory products but i have to agree that some things are too sickly, i'm not actually a big fan of really sweet scents anyway haha x

I think you're the only person I've heard of who doesn't seem to like Soap and Glory! I love the Sugar Crush smell, I have the scrub in it and just want to eat it.
ReplyDeletesad you didn't really like the scent of this, personally it's one of my favourites! xo

I love the scent of this, sorry that you didn;t though :( xxx

OH LILY HOW HAVE YOU NOT TRIED ANY SOAP AND GLORY BEFORE?! I'm probably their biggest fan (7 gift sets for christmas... says it all!). I totally agree about the scent in the whole Sugar Crush range even though I love citrusy scents but I would really advise you tried other things such as Clean On Me because they're not quite as strong! Don't rule the brand out altogether as there are some absolutely fantastic products - Hand Food in particular, but all of their body butters too :) And although I'm usually very sceptical about 'cheaper' skincare brands I absolutely love Scrub Your Nose In It that can be used as an exfoliator or mask for minimising the look of pores :) It's definitely worth trying some of the others though!

How have you never tried soap and glory? I'm in shock haha, but i love love love this product as well as the sugar crush body scrub i think the scent is so different compared to their other products :) Great post x

Pulp Friction is my favourite! :)
ReplyDeleteI've never tried Soap & Glory before either - I think this scent is also too sweet for me, but I'm eager to try the other products in their range xx
ReplyDeleteThe Simple Life of Emma
I'm not impressed by the packaging either, but as they're all on offer in Boots I recently picked up a couple bits - I'd recommend the Fab Pore Facial Peel, really chuffed with it. (the roller eye pen, not so much).
ReplyDeleteI'm not a huge fan of Soap and Glory, their products never seem to do as they promise. The Sanctuary Spa products from Boots work much better in my humble opinion x

Really want to try this! I might pick it up next time I'm in boots! :) ♥

I personally love the branding and most of Soap & Glory products. I also looked everywhere for this and got a little excited when I finally saw it in my local Boots, when to smell it and was repulsed! Reaaaally not a smell for me :( Clean Girls is an amazing body wash though

I also haven't tried anything from soap and glory. Most people have ! x

I absolutely love Soap and Glory. Not only because their stuff smells great (but you're right that some of the scents are way too sweet and I definitely don't use most of their products on a daily basis, more just like a once-a-week pamper thing) but I find it really does the job. Most of their body butters, lotions and scrubs are just amazing x
ReplyDeleteI have the sugar crush body scrub and love the scent! Everyone likes different things though i suppose :)

You must be the only blogger I know of who doesn't own many S&G products! I own so many of their products, I suggest giving the Breakfast Scrub a go - it smells incredible! x
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean I had a sniff the other day and thought "yuk" it's too sweet smelling! I was surprised as I love sweet things (ask my dentist) & lime (in my vodka). The clean me range is abit better xx
ReplyDeleteI smelt it the other day in Boots and thought it smelt really good! I may have to invest and give it a try :)

Caroline's Catwalk
To be honest from what you've said in the past I think S&G would be too perfumed for you and the wrong scents for your preferences, but you should give their cosmetics a whirl!
ReplyDeleteElspeth xx
Whenever you blog about something beauty related I always want to go and try it, damn you lily melrose :)
ReplyDeleteOooo I really wanted to try this! Shall give it a sniff in Boots and see what my nostrils say haha!

the mist you madly scent is my favourite :) it's not as sickly I find x
ReplyDeletehttp://thebeautyvisual.blogspot.com
I've been using S&G Clean On Me for ages - it has a lovely scent, sort of citrusy and sweet, but not sickly or overpowering (I'm not a massive fan of over perfumed stuff). Also it's moisturising, which is great because I'm super lazy! x

I've bought Soap & Glory products time and time again, enticed by everyone's rave reviews but I HATE the smell of everything I've tried! From body scrubs and hand cream to mists and oils - its all just as sickly and leaves a horrid lingering scent on my skin. I've learnt the hard way and wont be buying anything else, pleased someone shares my view..

I have the Sugar Crush scrub and thought it smelled like jelly babies, which is a shame as I HATE jelly babies! It made me feel a bit sick too! I love some of their other products though :)
ReplyDeleteAhh that is a shame!!
ReplyDeleteWill have to give this a miss

I personally love this scent it reminds me of the sweets refreshers, it's a shame you didn't like it though!
ReplyDeletehttp://rhiannonswardrobe.blogspot.co.uk
I found this too sickly so had a quick sniff and changed my mind in boots lol:)

I was also tempted to buy this after reading and watching a few rave reviews, but i've kind of boycotted Soap & Glory products after a horrendously disappointing experience with their overpriced concealer (which was also raved about!?)
ReplyDeleteI was kind of hoping that the scent would be fruity and refreshing which would be quite nice for morning showers, but thanks for the heads up about it being sickly. Still, i'll have to smell it next time i'm in Boots just incase :-)

I love Soap & Glory products, but to be fair I haven't tried any of the products that have the sweet / lime scent. I still think I will give this a try and see what I think though :) xo
ReplyDeleteI'm confused about this product too! It reminds me of Cif Lemon Cleanser. Ergh!
