Topshop Lip Crayons: £7*new finishes
As I mentioned in my last Topshop Lips review, I noticed Topshop has reformulated and relaunched a few of their Topshop Lip Crayons. I've done individual shade reviews but popped it all in one post for ease! Overall I do like them, apart from the shimmer finish one as I just cant see them being that wearable. However they are nice, deeper darker additions to the Topshop Makeup line. I really like the new glossier pencils too but I find them on the whole to be a lot more messier and end up a melted smooched mess even under normal temperatures.
Topshop Lip Crayon in Arcade: This is a super glossy darkened plum shade, A perfect addition to the Topshop lipstick line which was really lacking darker and deeper shades. It's quite sheer but can be built up in layers. The formula is of a gloss compared to the usual matte formula of these Topshop Lip Sticks. I find the formula to be slightly unworkable as it sits too much on the surface of my lips and tends to gather around my lip line and in the corners on my mouth. This also melts at the first sign of heat so be VERY careful. My tube is currently smothered in glossy plum lipstick and I've only tested it a few times.
Topshop Lip Crayon in Secret Party: I'm not keen on this shade at all. Although it looks quite red in the tube once applied it looks fairly dark pink. The formula is odd, quite sheer, but build able but it has a cherry red glitter going through it which I just cant warm too. The finish reminds me of something that a little girl would get as a gift for Christmas. I just don't think it's that flattering or pretty on the lips thanks to the shimmer. It just screams childish and it's just not that wearable as the holographic metallic look isn't for everyone
Topshop Lip Crayon in Royal: Royal is my favourite of this bunch of lip pencils. It's a neutral cherry red lip crayon with a matte finish. For a red I think I actually quite like it on me, it's striking without being too much and the matte finish makes it wearable on a daily basis. Unlike previous Topshop Lip crayons I didn't find it very drying on the lips and overall felt much creamier and less chalky compared to the previous shades. It feels smooth and soft on the lips and doesn't enhance any dry patches at all. Absolutely gorgeous formula and I cant recommend it enough! I'd love if some of the chalkier Lip Stick shades (I'm looking at you Powder Room!) to be made more like this.
