cult eyeshadow primerUrban Decay Primer Potion is possibly one of the most talked about products in the blogging world. Before blogging I didnt even know there was such a thing as a eye primer, but as soon as I started watching Youtube videos, the idea of a primer was drummed into my head. UDPP is a best selling, world famous eye makeup primer which claims to make your eyeshadows vibrant, crease free and last up to 24 hours. I've used a tiny UDPP before which came with the Naked palettes and I was never all that impressed. I just didn't think it was amazing. However I've recently given it another go and have found it to do a wonderful job at keeping my shadow in place. I don't really have oily lids, and to be honest I never really worry about the shadow lasting. I have however seen the difference it's made to how colours apply to my lids. The eyeshadow base comes in a squeezey tube and looks like fair tone but I think it's actually fairly transparent colour once blended into the lid. It dries down really quickly on the lid and doesn't leave it feeling tacky or greasy.
While I do think it's overhyped, I do like Urban Decay Primer Potion and do think it's great for those who want their shadows to last and apply more evenly. I do think it's pricey and not a really necessary step in beauty but I think it would work much better for dramatic or coloured eyeshadow looks compared to my usual neutral eye! I also think if you suffer from migrating shadows or oiler lids this might be worth a try! Urban Decay Primer Potion comes in four shades Original, Greed, Eden & Sin.

My eye lids are sooo oily so this is a god send! I haven't repurchased it with the 'new' tube,it looks as if this version is much nicer to use. I've found the product itself lasts a very long time too. I bought mine over a year & a half ago and it's only just at its end!

I was never all that impressed by the Primer Potion, I prefer using a MAC Paint Pot as an eyeshadow base!
ReplyDeleteIt works miracles for me, but I do have very oily lids! It just makes my eyeshadow stick, and it goes on so much more smoothly and blends a lot easier too. I love it far too much!

I used this for a long time and then gave MAC paint pots a go for a change, but i have gone back to UD again because MAC didn't quite cut it for me, my eyeshadows creased and looked gross after a day! God bless the primer potion!

I have to say ever since discovering it a couple years ago I haven't looked back; and I use it on all my clients coz it really does make the difference in keeping their makeup on and crease free x

I used to use this religiously, but recently it's been creasing like crazy, no idea why, I've started using the Nars one instead, even though it's more expensive it seems to be working, for now at least :)

i think theyre overpriced too, although i think it is a good step in beauty because it really does help shadows stay on for a longer period of time, and just helps make the "cheaper" eyeshadows work abit better. maybe udpp is overhyped, but there are defs other cheaper eyeprimer alternatives that work just as well!

I need this but that's only because I have oily lids! I used to not wear any primer and anything worked for a lot cheaper but it's good for the staying power if you have a problem I think :)

like you, when i started blogging, i didn't really understand the importance of an eye primer and i've only every tried this one through a freebie in a naked palette and wasn't that impressed. however, i do suffer with my eyeshadow not staying on all that long so maybe i should venture into an eye primer that will make a difference! X

I have this and I love it soo much, although in a way the shadow sticks to it a little TOO much which can get annoying if the application goes wrong. I had never heard of it either, so so glad I did though! I agree it makes eyeshadow look way better! xx
