Vo5 Give Me Texture Tousled Style Spray*, Vo5 Give Me Texture Dry Texturing Spray*, Vo5 Give Me Texture Choppy Cream Wax*, Vo5 Give Me Texture Instant Oomph Powder*Vo5 Give Me Texture Tousled Style Spray: This is sort of a sea salt style spray which claims to add a tousled beachy look to the hair. I have to admit I didn't LOVE this product, I thought it was good but I've used similar products that I loved more. I don't think it adds "tousled waves' to my hair, I don't think any salt spray would do! Mainly because it's so straight. I wouldn't expect the world from it but it is a good hair prep product and does give the hair that beachy feel.
Vo5 Give Me Texture Dry Texturing Spray: These dry shampoo/hairspray hybrids are among my favourite hair products. A life saver for people like me who have pretty limp lifeless flat hair after washing and need something to give it a bit of roughness during styling. It's great for enhancing curled or wavy hair and adding a bit of body into the lengths. I think this spray is really light and doesn't leave and noticeable residue in the hair.
Vo5 Give Me Texture Choppy Cream Wax: I cant really comment on this as it's not really suitable for my hair type. However if you have shorter, choppier hair this would be a pretty good product to define your layers and add some roughness to your hair. My friend Matt used it in his hair and said it was pretty good for getting a bit of texture for styling. Definitely not one for long hair girls but if your hair is shoulder length or shorter I can see this being a useful product.
Vo5 Give Me Texture Instant Oomph Powder: I've been a huge fan of these sorts of texturing powders for a while, they are a great alternative to backcombing. You dont have to use a lot of this powder to get a decent ammount of oomph. However they can give a fair ammount of build up which means it does leave the hair feeling a bit dry, the only way I can explain how it feels is a bit like the flower arranging blocks which I think are called Oasis! It does wash out easily, but it's not the nicest feeling! This one feels light in the hair and gives volume that lasts with minimal effort or damage to the hair. I actually quite like the smell too which is a odd thing to comment on but I do! To use I take sections of my hair around the crown and apply this to the roots and then rub it in and cover it with hair. Instant boost!

I really want to try the texturising spray. Like you my hair feels too clean and boring after washing so I like to spray or rub something in there to give a bit of oomph! x
ReplyDeleteI like how the powder worked in your last video, it's something I've never thought to try but I might try this V05 one! xx
ReplyDeleteLove reading your hair related posts Lily, from what I've read on your blog i think we have pretty similar hair - fine but lots of it! My hair really doesn't agree with salt sprays, they just make my hair feel awful.
ReplyDeleteJust wandering do you prefer this dry shampoo/hairspray combo or the Tresemee one you've previously reviewed? I'm deciding which one to get :)

I love the way the Instant Oomph Powder makes me hair look, but I just can't get over the feeling of it in my hair, it literally makes me cringe! I guess that's the problem with all powders though, not just this one.

I've got the V05 tousled spray and really don't like it. I feel it just leaves my hair crispy like a bad hairspray, not texture at all

I have only tried the V05 tousled spray, and not sure I like it. It just doesnt spray even (could just be my bottle) and sprays as though its a water gun and just leaves my hair crunchy. Ugh. Lovely post though, I like the look of the hair spray

I just umm-ed and aah-ed in Boots for 10 minutes about whether to get "give me texture" or "plump it up" spray. Went for the plump it up one as it's more for volume, but I definitely want to try the texturising powder now!

I bought the instant oomph powder the other day as well as a l'oreal gel product. Ii have really been slacking in the hair product department recently, I normally curl my hair, but because I haven't been putting any product in it the curls drop out straight away. I used to use John Freida, Funky Chunky for blonde hair and Ii loved it, but of course they discontinued it, so now I'm on the hunt for its replacement!
ReplyDeleteI love the oomph powder because it really gives good volume without you having to attack your hair with a backcomb brush, which makes my hair tangled and knotty
Brilliant Post!
