While my hair obviously isn't bleach blonde it is blonde-ish. Even when I was ombre I used to regularly use purple shampoo's on my hair to knock out some of the brassiness that can come with having blonde or highlighted hair. I recently picked up the Lee Stafford Bleach Blondes Shampoo & Conditioner on a little Boots binge as it was on offer with other professional haircare. I'd been in the market for as new purple shampoo and I was recommended it a few times on Twitter so thought I'd give it a whirl.
I tend to use this once or twice a week, mixed slightly with some of my regular shampoo and conditioner (currently Im using Redken Extreme). I find it takes out a lot of the brassy tones and leaves my blondness refreshed and much less orange in tone. The shampoo has a really strong purple pigmented to it, but the conditioner is more subtle so you probably could get away with using one or the other depending on your hair's needs. I like to use shampoo and conditioner from the same range as I don't like mixing brands! However, I find the Shampoo slightly drying so as I said I tend to mix it to counteract this and then leave this on my hair for around 5 minutes just to let the purple tones do its work. The conditioner also works well, but I find it's not as strong as I'd like it to be in terms of toning my hair.
I'm fairly happy with the Lee Stafford Bleach Blondes Shampoo & Conditioner, there isn't anything wrong with them and they do the job I want. The only negative is the slightly drying feeling from the shampoo but I'm working around that. I definitely think I'd purchase this again over the old purple shampoo I used to use as the combination of the two products is very effective.

I am literally just about to run out of purple shampoo, so I might give this a try! I've been hunting for the L'Oreal one but can never find it!

I do really like this shampoo but as im bleach all over if i leave it just a little bit too long my hair has a pink tint to it. I use it with a deep conditioner to help with the dryness x

I used to use John Frieda's Sheer Blonde ones and they used to last me a while. Think I'll give these a whirl!

I've never tried Lee Stafford products before, but perhaps I should give these a go! My hair's bleached to heck, and at the moment I use Clynol's silver shampoo once or twice a week which also works really well I've found! My hair's definitely not as yellow as it used to be xxx

I hate this product, my hair is bleached all over and it turns my hair purpley grey straight away (and not in a nice way).

I tried these but didn't really like them, especially the conditioner as I found the shampoo so drying the conditioner was really lack lustre but I use schwarzkopf colour freeze silver shampoo which I get from my hairdressers and it's the best I've used, not drying and really does the job! XO
ReplyDeleteAnother great post!
