Clinique launched Chubby Stick for Eyes a few months ago and I've only just got around to getting my mitts on one. If I'm being honest they sort of passed me by for a bit, Clinique isn't really a brand I tend to buy from. It doesn't appeal to me that much for some reason so I never really go over to a counter. After a few key blog post's I was enabled and marched myself over to my nearest Clinique counter. From swatches and my usual gravitations towards warm tones and neutrals, I was lemming towards two shades: Bountiful Beige and Ample Amber. Unfortunately they didn't have the beige one in stock (a pretty brightening golden beige shade) so I settled upon Ample Amber and galloped back home to apply it ASAP.

Ample Amber is a super pretty gold/peach/amber shade with a slight shimmer running through it. Those familiar with MAC All That Glitters it is along those lines but with a touch more warmth. As a bluey-green eyed girl the colour compliments my eyes really well and really makes them pop. The shadow stick has an unique rounded tip, this makes applications super easy and completely fool proof.  Chubby Sticks for Eyes are perfect for beginners as they really require very little skill to apply. Swipe, Blend and done. Ample Amber provided a wonderful wash of colour on the lid which I simply blended out with a finger to soften the edge. Although shadow takes a few seconds to set (which is good as it gives time to blend!) it lasted all day on my lids. I found that it slightly creases after about 4 hours it wasn't all that noticeable. For you oilier lidded gals it might be worth using an eye primer or setting with a similar eyeshadow on top. My only gripe is the fact that the rounded edge does make it a bit harder to line the lower lash line (although not impossible) and get product right into the lash line, but using a brush could make this easier. But that's extra faff for such an easy product!

So in all, Chubby Sticks for Eyes are so simple & so quick. Initially something I thought I could live without, but once I got my paws on it I've got it I've worn it every single day. 100% wholeheartedly recommend this shade of Chubby Stick for Eyes if you're looking for an easy go-to eye. Ample Amber will suit most complexions from light to dark, warm to cool toned as it's a really universal shade. Definitely my personally recommended shade from the range. At £16 a pop these don't come cheap but the way the highstreet practically jumped all over the Chubby Stick for Lips trend Im sure some low end dupes will be out in due course!

  5. I'm exactly the same, Clinique has never appealed to me. I walk past the stand every time; I think I kind of associate it with middle aged women, lol... but I do actually always hear good things about it!

This does look very nice and simple on your eyes tho :-)

  12. ooo I'm a bit skeptical when it comes to 'chubby eyeshadow pencil' products after using a few from different brands, and like you clinique is a brand that I tend to avoid due to it being a little too 'clinical' for me, however I have read a few positive reviews on this product so may have to go to my nearest counter and check out the shades on offer. Although you can never have too many neutral shades in your collection.

  13. This sounds really good. And the colour is so pretty. I'm kind of tempted now, I thought the colour selection seemed a little silly when they first came out as they didn't seem very versatile at all, but this one has caught my eye!
