clinique high impact extreme volume mascara

clinique high impact extreme volume mascara review swatch photo

Holy, Moly. I think I've reached new levels of love with the Clinique High Impact Mascara Extreme Volume. I don't throw the word holy grail around lightly (although I may have said last month I loved the Origins Ginzing Mascara a lot, oops!). Also while I know I mentioned in my Clinique Chubby Sticks for Eyes post that I'd never really used anything from Clinique. The two items have rocketed up my list of favourite products and have completely changed my mind on the brand.

With the  Clinique High Impact Mascara Extreme Volume my lashes look really dramatic, defined and lengthened. Everything I'd expect a mascara to do and so much more. I do think it can get a little clumpy as the brush does bring out a fair bit of product. However I find combing through a few times with the brush and then going over the lashes with the rounded end part separates the lashes and removes some of the excess. The brush itself is plastic bristles with slightly rounded tip at the end (similar to ball on the Givenchy Phenomen'eyes Mascara or Benefit They're Real) which is perfect for separating the lashes out and getting right to the inner corners. I can see some people saying that  the Clinique High Impact Mascara Extreme Volume brush quite large to work with but I found it very easy once I got used to it. The colour doesn't fade or flake off during the day which makes me really happy. I hate it when mascaras flake off and irriate the eyes! It's quite a wet formulation which might not be everyones cup of tea some people but I like it because I feel it coats the lashes better and product applies easier. It does take longer to dry than some mascara's I've tested but only a few seconds more.

So in conclusion, I will 100% be repurchasing this when it runs out. I don't think I've ever enjoyed using a mascara so much (yes, you've heard that before, but honestly this time!) While I can see why this might be a bit too much for a "day mascara" on some people. I think perfect for me all the time and suits "my look" to a tee. Basically it's super lengthening, black, pigmented, non-flakey, non-drying, volumising and is very easy to remove. Either a cotton pad of Bioderma or my favourite Clarins Cleanser does the trick no problem!

  3. Have you tried the loreal false lash telescopic? I find the telescopic mascaras get clumpy but this false lash version is AMAZING! This clinique one looks really good too!

  14. It looks a bit clumpy, to be honest? But I feel like I have heard great things about this mascara in general :)

    1. I'm glad someone else thinks so. I love clinque, and this blog, but this mascara just looks awful.

    2. Me too, I don't mean this in a rude way at all and I'm a perfectionist when it comes to making sure every single lash is separated, but that is pretty bad. Sorry, I do love your blog but just not this post ;)

    3. Where's the like/up vote button?

Because you're right, they look clumpy and stubby. I would never ever even think about saying I like that mascara. It looks, to be honest but not rude, really bad...
The blog is great, but this post made me lose some of the credibility of the blog if this is what 'good' looks like....

    4. wow, just because I consider it to be good doesn't mean its right, just like you might not consider it a good look and others do. I don't think its rude of you but I find really disrespectful to be told it loses my credibility because something I like isn't to your personal taste. we all like different things and I find the fact you need to back up your negative words about my taste with the fact you like my blog unnecessary. it doesn't matter if you like my blog in general just not one post.

  21. I have tried this mascara before and I did love it too, but I think it is a little pricey. I love using the Loreal Mega volume, to me it gives really similar results to this! :)

  28. I might try this although it does seem a little expensive. I got a mini version of the Benefit 'They're Real' and although I love how long it makes my lashes its so hard to remove! Hope you have a good Easter Sunday :)

  40. this sounds like such a perfect mascara! i'm a big mascara fan as i think that they really brighten up my eyes and i look like a whole other person after i've applied some mascara! at the moment i'm using a model's own 'grow fast' mascara that separates the lashes out and then i apply another mascara to get a certain effect (e.g. volumised, lengthened etc) over the top. however, i prefer just to use this routine for day time use and would much rather have a different one for the evenings/going out at night. but i think my search is over and this could be for me! i sort of like the full and clumpy look so it seems really perfect!
