spring makeup

spring makeup review swatch photo
I don't change my makeup often, I think it's very obvious I like a matte lip, a flick of liner and a touch of glow on the eyes. For spring I've opted to keep my signature look, but I've shaken my makeup routine up a little to reflect my interpretation of spring time makeup. As always this is just my take on Spring makeup, I'd love to know how you adapt your makeup routine for springtime!

For my base in the Spring time I like it too look natural, fresh and illuminating. I don't really like the dewey finish so I've been lemming towards to Jouer Matte Moisture Tint in the shade Nude. This is a one of a kind matte tinted moisturiser that leaves my skin looking flawless, evened out and natural. It's so light on the skin it feels like you aren't wearing anything at all. I love the brightening and glowy finish it gives to the skin. It just feels fresh without being dewy which is right up my street. To conceal my under eye bags (which are really bad at the moment) I recently purchased the By Terry Touche Veloutte in Shade 2. This is an absolute dream to use and really illuminates my under eye area while neutralising any darkness. For my cheeks I've been religiously using a recent Nars addition which is the Nars blush in Gina. It's a beautiful true coral peach powder blush that pops the cheeks and brings loads of warmth and freshness to the skin. It's something I'd highly recommend checking out if you're in the market for a new go-to blush. So easy to wear and such a beautiful shade.

While I like to keep my brows groomed at all times, but I've stopped filling them in as dark recently and been opting towards brow gels to set the hair in place. To do this I just use a clear mascara like the Natural Collection Clear Mascara which retails for the bargain price of £1.99. While not the best clear brow gel I've used the cheapness makes up for it! For lips I've been loving corals, peaches and nudes. My pick is probably the Sleek Makeup Lipstick in Peaches and Cream. Which funny enough I've had  had this for ages but never reached for it until recently. It's a punchy coral shade with a creamy opaque finish. Comfortable to wear, bright enough to be worn day or night this is a really multi use shade.

What sort of makeup do you tend to go towards in the spring? Is it a whole makeup shakeup or like me, do you adapt your usual look for a new season with some new products?

  6. Your Brows are amazing! I just adapt mine to suit the season I normally trade in my darker lip colours from winter for more peachy and coral shades for Spring and my fuller coverage foundation for a more sheer one :) xx

  9. I bought a peach/coral shade from Barry M on Tuesday - it's my new favourite shade! Matte, great colour pay off and loving how it makes my (religiously everyday!) smokey eye make up pop a little more!

  10. Really fresh for spring, gorgeous.

I know it's not so obvious but I think your nails also look great, the colour and shape looks very elegant on your skin tone.

  20. I still don't feel like the weather is nice enough to totally switch to Spring products yet haha, although today I did go for a bright blue liner on my water line.

I also used a bright pink lipstick to make me feel more springy even if it was raining, I wrote about it on my blog actually haha

That tinted moisturiser looks really nice, not too dewey for those days when you already feel a little 'glowy' haha

  22. Hi Lily ... I really like a lot of your makeup. I identify with them because I think we have the same skin tone. Although I live on the coast of Brazil (in a city with 42 beaches - Florianópolis / SC) I don't like to expose myself to the sun and always think in seasons like spring and summer, "less is more".
A lighter and refreshing makeup is so much pretty. I usually use neutral tones / Peaches / pastel / matte... and, only in the winter, I carry a little bit more in the eyes with brown or black smoky tones .... please continue to post your daily makeup and sunday portraits - which is always wonderful! God bless you. Hugs. Luciana ....
