Coming soon to a Barry M counter near you are the new Barry M Confetti Nail Polishes! These are very similar to the Nails Inc Feather polishes in which are basically strands suspended in a clear base. All of the colours in this post are three coats without a base. I would recommend using a colour base though! Barry M Confetti Nails in Dolly Mixture is a multicoloured strand polish in yellow, orange, pale blue and white. It looks very much like sweets. Barry M Confetti Nails in Liquorice is a black and white stranded polish which I personally really like. I think the feather or confetti nails effect works well in monochrome. Barry M Confetti Nails in Marshmallow is a soft pink which looks really cute and girly.

I have to admit although I like the effect, I think they are so hard to get off it's not even worth it. It would probably be worth applying a peel-able base to the nail like the Essence Peel Of Base or even PVA Glue. It took me a good hour with scrubbing to remove all the polish from the nails when I used the Nails Inc ones so I presume it's similar. The finish is slightly rough so I'd recommend using a topcoat to seal everything in. In all it's a nice high street dupe to the more expensive Nails Inc polishes, but I cant see them catching on unfortunately! At £3.99 a pop they aren't going to break the bank and really do add a unique, funky texture to the nails!

  1. These look exciting, annoying that they take a while to scrub off. I always feel as this damages my nails xx

  3. Amazing colours, I love 'Marshmallow'. I would say they are a nightmare to remove but they look fab! Plenty of Nail straightener and cuticle oil after removal!

  4. Marshmallow and Dolly Mixture look really cute, I think they'd work best over a colour base coat but Liquorice is very striking!

The picture reminded me of the Nails Inc range before I'd even read the post so they look like a great dupe! Shame about the hassle with taking it off, perhaps painting it onto glue on false nails would be a good plan with this!

  6. I love 'Marshmallow', but I think I'm far too low maintenance *cough, lazy and impatient* to bother with this effect. An hour of removal? No thanks :(

  8. marshmallow is gorgeous. I do love the effect of these types, but I agree with the above comments, too much effort to take off and i find your nails are in a complete mess afterwards...

  25. The liquorice one is gorgeous! Unfortunately, I probably would never wear it or any of the rest. I typically pass over the nail polishes like this one because they are such a pain to remove.

  37. I'm not too sure what to make of these, I love Barry M don't get me wrong however I did buy one of their 'concrete' nail polishes (I forget what they were really called) I've used it once and even then I took it off not so long after :/

I think I prefer just a plain polish in most circumstances :)

Great review of these though, they do look as if they would be tough to remove.

  52. These honestly look pretty interesting, although I would probably only wear them once in a while as I can't even stand wearing glitter polishes that often due to the tricky removal process. Would be a nice occasional nail accent, though! x

    ReplyDelete
  53. The colours are lovely, bet they look even better on a bright base! I get annoyed with glitter polishes that take forever to take off though, but as you mentioned it's a small price for a £3.99 price tag xoxo

  54. do you know when these polishes are being released?

  55. i was so excited to read about these and then go out and purchase them but upon hearing that they're ridiculously hard to get off, i don't think it's worth it! i'm so gutted as i think they're so gorgeous but with past experience of struggling to take off glitter polishes, i'm not convinced that they're going to make it into my nail varnish collection. ah well, i guess i'll just have to keep my eye out for other nail varnish effects! X

  56. I picked Marshmellow and Sour Apple up today in my Superdrug even though they arent supposed to be released until the 5th, confusing stuff. But they're adorable to wear, haven't tried to get it off yet so I'm still speculative
