primark nail polishes: £2*

I did a little Primark haul a few days ago and while I was their I picked up a quartet of blue polishes. For lack of a better name I'm just going to refer to them as that as they dont seem to have an offical name or shade names. I'll be talking about the shades from left to right from the bottom image. Nail Polish 1 is a pretty cornflower blue which surprisingly is fairly unique to my collection. It's bluer than other cornflower blues I have. The second shade is a clear glitter with small blue particles and larger navy particles. The third shade is a bright  turquoise green with a blue undertone. It's very similar to Mavala Bamako but a little brighter in tone so if you were looking for a cheap dupe then defintely have a look for this pack. The finial shade is a bright sea blue shade. The finish of all the colour polishes are nice shiney creme finishes, but I would say it's worth topping up with a decent topcoat just to add shine and make them last a bit longer.

At 4 polishes for a mere £2 I cant really find anything to complain about. While the formula isnt the quickest drying the pigmentation is lovely and all (minus the glitter) are opaque in two light coats. You cant really expect too much from a highstreet store's own brand makeup but I do think these are really good. To be fair these polishes are perfect mix and match shades for a holiday and these would make a really nice little gift (just take the £2 sticker off!). I'm very impressed with them in all honesty as £2 is an absolute bargain for what these are and I'd definitely recommend them. My favourite shade is the turquoise as it will look absolutely stunning with a tan!

  2. These are amazing for £2! I will certainly be getting these, I've tried a couple of the Primark nail polish packs before and have always been quite impressed but I've never seen them do colours quite as nice as these before!

  11. I'm surprisingly impressed with these, the first shade reminds me a lot of Essie's 'Bikini So Teeny' but just a hint more blue, which is never a bad thing. Thanks for the heads up! x

  15. I've seen these in Primark and instantly assumed they'd be really poor quality! I might have to pick one or two up after reading this, though.

  19. These don't look half bad! Two pounds is such a bargain, I'll have to grab one of these on the off chance I book anything last minute in the holiday department. I think you're right about the turqouise, it will look amazing with a tan! Now to find some sun...
    Hope you're well.

  25. I bought a set similar to this a while back, in a set of pastels. I agree with the decent quality for the price, but mine stink! I mean, the smell nearly knocked me out when I first tried them. Have they improved/gotten rid of the scent?

  34. I left a big ol' comment on your other blog about Primark nail varnishes - so I won't repeat myself. I will just say, that I have the turquoisey shade of this on as we speak - it's going strong (no chips whatsoever) a good few days in, & I've had lots of compliments on it (even from total strangers) - all good :)

  40. I love the range of colours Primark do with their four pack polishes, I got a few last year but cannot stand the smell. Obviously nail polish isn't supposed to smell nice but this smell was literally something else, it made me gag! If you can get past that then yes, they're great.

  44. These are actually really nice and so cheap! I've always looked at Primark polishes but never got any purely because I was naïve enough to think they'd turn out to be pretty awful in application etc being from Primark and all but you might have just changed my mind on that! xo
