OPI Nail Envy

OPI Nail Envy review swatch photo
OPI Nail Envy: £18.65*

As most people are aware I wear acrylics, I wasn't blessed with a lovely nail bed or long strong nails. I've been wearing false nails for probably about 6 years on and off now, before settling on getting regular acrylics. Recently I decided to take them off and give my nails a good break. But if you've had acrylic nails before you know the state of your nails after they come off. Weak, ridged and generally just not the nicest looking things. Although to be honest I've always had really weak nails, even before I discovered acrylics.

In comes the OPI Nail Envy. Something that's constantly harped on about to me by my friends and my nail technician. Honestly, its been lurking in my collection for so long but is just something I've never gotten round to giving a whirl. So for the last three weeks of non-nail abuse I've been using the OPI Nail Envy and I can honestly say it has worked. While my nails arent anywhere near being in amazing condition, and I am actually going to get acrylics applied today. My nails have really turned themselves around in such a short time. They look noticably stronger, healthier and actually feel like nails. Not the super thin shadow of a nail they were before. I know Im going to ruin them again by being naughty and getting acrylics, but I feel this month long break has really benefitted my nails and has prompted me to do it again in the future.

I applied this once a day in the evening before bed just because it was conveniently on my night table so I didn't forget. It just came as part of my nightime routine. Im terrible at sticking to doing things, but when you stick to routines you do get results. In all, a big thumbs up for OPI Nail Envy. It's darn pricey but does what it says on the bottle. I wish my nails were a nice shape naturally and grew properly, but I cant recall a period of time in my whole life that I've had nails in good condition. I hate their natural shape

  3. I use this as a base coat every time I paint my nails but I don't think it did anything with my chipping nails. But it's a nice bace coat nevertheless. The same result as with Orly Bonder.

  6. My nails were massacred by acrylics, I too can vouch for his stuff lily! Luckily my friend is a beautician so I didn't have to fork out for it, didn't realise the hefty price tag!
Sally hansens miracle cure is pretty good too.

  7. I don't think it's that expensive for a product that works...if something is good I'm prepared to pay!
When I get my nails done it's far more expensive so I prefer using things like this knowing i can do the same at home and look after my nails :D

I love OPI products...they have gorgeous products and colours... :) plus you can get things like this from Sally's for less...hooray!

  11. I've had false nails for about 6 weeks now and I'm getting them soaked off for good next week and I'm terrified of what state my nails are going to be in so I might have to buy this as I've only heard good things. Glad it has helped you!

  15. I'm obsessed with OPI nail envy!! I was originally put off by the price, but decided to treat myself for my birthday about 8 months ago.. And I half to say I'd never go back! It's transformed my nails, and prolongs the wear of my nail polish to about a week (max two days without) when I use it as a base coat. It's without a doubt a HG product for me! xxx

  17. My best friend gets acrylics to prevent her from stress nail-biting and ugh they completely and utterly DESTROY her nails. For a while she had only stubs because some of them ripped off and they totally tore off her real nails! I wouldn't suggest ever getting acrylics, but I guess I'm just luckily blessed to have long, healthy nails. Even so, I'd take healthy nails (however stumpy they are) over regular acrylics.

  21. swear by OPI Nail Envy; i am cursed with horrible acrylic-gnarled nails so in between sets i rarely let anything else touch it. just trying out the Sally Hansen Maximum Growth though which is a little cheaper, and finding it to be really amazing as well though if you don't want to splash out! xo

  23. i bought this when i went to new york last october and i absolutely love it! my nails go through periods of being really weak and they always peel so this was perfect for giving my nails a little extra care and attention. i use this as both a base coat for some extra protection and for when i can't wear nail varnish so that they still look nice and shiny! i'm so glad that this has worked for you because i absolutely swear by this product! :) X
