Rimmel Space Dust Collection: £3.99*

The Rimmel Autumn Winter collection was delivered to me the other day so I thought I'd get swatching up the new range so you can get a lil taster of what to expect when these hit the counters from October 2nd. Space Dust is an innovative special effort nail polish, packed full of micro shimmer and chunky glitters. The polish base is actually quite thin, but after the initial coat thats when the magic happens. Opaque glittery colour, slightly textured but very finely milled.

Rimmel Luna Love is a dark pink glitter with various pink and silver holographic glittery packed into it. The shimmer in this one is really fine and I found it dried the roughest out of all the shades. Rimmel Aurora is a soft light pink shade which I think is really beautiful. It would be really lovely for a wedding or a formal occasion. Rimmel Moon Walking is a purple with silver holographic microshimmer and larger lilac glitter going through it. Rimmel Shooting Star is the silver, I think this is another abolsultly stunning shade. I dont even like full glitters but I can see myself wearing this in the coming weeks. Finally there is Rimmel Total Eclipse, a greeny-black shade which would be great for Halloween or Christmas.

My personal favourites are Shooting Star and Aurora and all the other shades are a bit blah and not to my personal tastes. While Im not a huge shimmer fan I do like glitters and the finish of the Rimmel Space Dust polishes is very nice. It doesnt feel TOO gritty and dries fairly soft without a topcoat, I would advise a topcoat for ultimate smoothness though! It seems like micro shimmer is really in this Autumn Winter as I've seen it in loads of upcoming nail collections for Fall. Im not a huge fan, but I do think these work well for accent nails. Shooting Star paired with a soft cream would be a really lovely wintery nail look!

  43. this looks like a really interesting collection! i have some similar nail varnishes from barry m that also have a gritty texture, but aren't glittery, just plain colours which, when compared to these, is a little bit boring! i really really like total eclipse and luna love! i completely agree that total eclipse will be perfect for the upcoming months but luna love will also be nice to brighten things up! :) X

  49. I don't think Aurora is a "light pink" shade at all. At least on my nails it doesn't look pink at all. Maybe in some particular lighting... But I would describe it as beige.
But the Total Eclipse looks absolutely beautiful! I might reward myself with it for passing my exams haha.
Also, WOAH! those are expensive in the UK! o_O I curently live in the Czech Republic and these are sold for about 69 czk, which is 2£ - half the price they are in Britain.
