babyliss glamour waves: £19.99*

I cant believe it's taken me so long to get around to reviewing the Babyliss Glamour Waves Curling Tong. I've had it for ages, it's my go-to styling tool! I don't often use heat on my hair these days because its already damaged enough without it. However when I do this is the tool that I'll instantly reach for. Babyliss Glamour Waves creates extra large Hollywood inspired curls in minutes. I think of it as a "5 mins and done" kind of device. If you take large, chunky sections, it creates a subtle waved look. My way of using this is to curl in sections away from the face, roll back on itself and pin up with bobby pins. Then I'll leave it all to cool, spritz with hairspray and take out the pins. I do this because My hair doesn't like being curled and curls can drop easily if not left to set. By doing this, it prolongs the life of my curl. Plus I like to curl my hair then go about doing my makeup. It makes me feel a little more glamourous! Let me know if you want a tutorial of this and I can do one! I used this tong in my half up half down hair tutorial I did a few days ago as a lot of people were asking about it.

The barrel is a whopping 38mm which is the largest barrelled tong I currently own. As it's so large it gives these romantic soft waves, rather than tight ringlet curls. Another plus point is that the tong also has a variable heat setting going up to 210 C. Therefore you can use a heat suitable for your hair type rather than blasting it with heat it doesn't need.

The Babyliss Glamour Waves tool adds subtle movement to the hair without making it look too done. I feel it gives sort of Hollywood inspired come boho beach babe hair type finish. That naturally, tousled look that we all wish our hair looked like naturally but doesn't quite fall like that without a bit of help! I absolutely love this wand, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it for mid to long hair. I think shorter hair may not benefit from the large barrel as it's awkward to wrap shorter hair around a large barrel. You can pick these up for around £20 from most good electrical retailers.

Have you tried this curling tong?

  2. Looks good, I wonder if it would work on my incredibly thick hair!? Most curling tongs don't seem to, if I want the curls to last for more than 30 minutes I have to use rollers first, not worth the hassle!
