Maybelline BROWDrama

Maybelline BROWDrama in Medium Brown: £4.49

Brows are my thing. My beloved brows are my pride and joy, albeit slightly unruly at the moment and could do with a good threading session. I'm determined to grow that the front part out so thats why they are left a bit longer than I should! I wanted to test out some more budget friendly brow products I thought I'd start with this new launch from Maybelline. Maybelline BROWDrama is a tinted brow sculpting mascara. I got the shade Medium Brown as I worried the Dark Brown would be too brown. I probably should have got the dark brown, as I think medium brown would be more suitable to an ashier coloured brow hair than mine.

I have to admit I wasn't impressed with this product. I felt it added very little colour and while it tamed my brows somewhat, I felt it left a bit of a white residue in them. While it didn't leave my eyebrow feeling crispy, I just felt the whitish tint made it look like they were. I don't know how well you can tell from the photos the eyebrows have a slightly whitish, crusty look to them which I didn't like. I felt like it was making my brows look very odd! I did, however like the "360" brush as it was the perfect shape for shaping the brow and getting into all the hairs.

It could be appropriate for no makeup makeup days when you just want to slick down your brows a little. Even with my very full brows I feel I'd need to add a little shadow or something to the front of the brow before applying Brow Drama. As it is a sculpting tinted brow mascara it is probably best used simply to set rather than fill in. When worn alone it's a long way from giving dramatic brows like the name implies. I feel like cheap clear mascara does just as good of a job for half the price. I can't say I'd recommend this if you have full brows like me as I really don't think it's worth it. Maybe if you had light brows and needed something to add a tint it'd be more suitable, but I can't see the benefits when I have dark brows to start with apart from the smooth them down a bit.
Have you tried the Maybelline BROWDrama?

  1. I hate this product. My mom bought it and hated it and passed it on to me - to which I quickly passed it back to her. She has very sparse brows so it's just as useless with wimpier brows as it is with thicker ones. Seriously a waste of money! www.hausofamy.co.uk

  2. I bought this as well but was disappointed too, I really wanted it to be amazing! If you're looking for a budget brow product, it's worth having a gander at Archery by Soap & Glory if you haven't already. It's a bit more expensive than BROWdrama but it does a much better job! x

  3. I agree, I tried a tester in store because it didn't look very convincing that it would hold my brows into place. It just left them crispy with not much tint at all! Waste of money even though it's quite a cheap product

  10. Oo er, I'll be staying away, glad I heard about this because I probably would have picked it up out of curiosity. No thanks, do not want crusty white brows, although yours look fine in the picture.

  24. Madame your brows. I have ultimate envy - mine just refuse to grow it's ever so upsetting,

I tend to just use my naked basics palette to fill mine with a small angled brush :) does the job.

  30. Thank you for the review! However, I have been loving this product!!! I bought the dark and medium brown; dark is good for night time and medium for day. My eyebrows are kind of medium - neither thick nor thin, but I have wanted them thicker. I find that this product tints all the fine blonde hairs and so makes my brows look fuller - but it keeps them tidy and in line ^_^ Best eyebrow product I've ever used x

  32. i actually have ridiculously light eyebrows (my friends like to joke that they are non existent) and as a result, could probably do with a little extra help in making them stand out. therefore i do think a tinting product like this would probably be good for me but you don't seem that please by it so i'm not sure i'd try it... i guess the search for the perfect eyebrow product is still on! ;) X

  33. I have it, but I'm more than a little bit confused with the brush... because of the ball on the end, I cant use the thinner bit of it without contorting my neck into unnatural positions because I'll get the product from the ball all over my face? Design flaws. Wacky for the sake of being wacky!

  36. I have medium thickness eyebrows but very pale in colour, and I find the dark blonde shade of Brow Drama to be excellent! It makes my eyebrows very visibly darker but still a natural colour, and hen I'm going for a full face of makeup I team it with an ash brown eyeshadow to fill them in more.
It does set the hairs in place, which gives them that 'crispy' feel - but I have no plans to run my fingers through my eyebrow hair so I don't think that matters.

I would definitely recommend this product!
