Nails Inc Porceshter Square*, BArry M Gelly hi shine nail polish in lychee,
Revlon Colourstay Nail Polish in BAre Bones

Chanel Particulière was a turning point for the griege nail polish trend, it was a must have instant sell out back in 2010. With the shade selling out pretty much before it had time to hit counters. Everyone from Rihanna to Gwyneth Paltrow were snapped sporting this strange hybrid shade on their tips. Fast forward a few more years and the greige nail trend is still being buzzed about. Now it's a weird ol' colour, a unique blend of grey and beige. You could go for the full on brown grieges (not a fan) but I tend to think of greige's as desaturated skin tone shades.

First up: Nails Inc Porchester Square. This was the polish that kicked my love affair with greige off. I got it in a goody bag at and event and didn't think much of it until one day I decided to give it a try. Oh Boy, my face resembled the hearts in the eyes Emoji before Emoji was even a thing. It's a mucky muted mushroom, understated while looking incredibly polished. It's the kind of shade that would suits just about any skin tone. Next we have Barry M Gelly Hi Shine in Lychee. This is the lightest of the bunch and reminds me of a milky latte or a really milky "granny" tea. It's probably a little more on the beige end of the greige spectrum than the other shades, but it still has that "desaturated skin tone" feel to it. Revlon Bare Bones is a slap bang in the middle of nude nails and greige. A trendy warm light beige cement shade. I love the formula of the Revlon Colourstay nail polishes, super thick, easy to apply and lasts ages on the nails without chipping.

On some people, it can look like mannequin hands on others it can look chic and slick. Me? I think it's a wonderful shade range and one of my favourite nail polish colour families at the moment. I do think you need to get the right shade for your skin tone, so it's worth experimenting before committing.
What do you think of greige nails?

  1. Porchester Square has been on my list for too long! I'm trying to get my hands on the Gel version of it, as I've heard it lasts ages on the nails. It will be interesting to see how the griege nail looks on my paler than pale hands! x

  5. I think I might pick up bare bones as my lychee polish has gone really gloopy and I haven't had it really for that long. These are all lovely colours :)
