REVLON COLOR BURST LACQUER BALM*

This month, Revlon are releasing a bunch of new lip colours, and relaunching their popular Just Bitten Kissable Stains (Now Revlon ColorBurst Balm Stains) and adding to the ColorBurst range with 10 brand new Revlon ColorBurst Matte balms and 10 Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balms. Revlon has taken the “chubby stick” trend to the drugstore and really ran with it. I think this is going to be a HUGE launch for 2014, and I can already predict it being very popular in the coming weeks. I’ve already swatched the Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balms, which you can see here, so today I’ll be doing the Lacquer Balms.

The formula is described as “high shine with a balm like moisture”, I can agree with that. They feel light and hydrating without smothering the lips They a punch in the pigment department, but I do think the finish varies from semi sheer to opaque. Depending on how much of the product you apply, so it’s pretty adaptable. Finish is pretty glossy, glossy enough without being too much. Reading my press release it says the Lacquer ColorBurst Crayon have a slight sparkle/shimmer going through them, but I didn’t notice this at all. The only shade I found to be notably frosty was Whimsical. All of the Revlon ColorBurst Crayon's contain a "Triple Butter Complex" of Shea, Mango and Coconut Butter and have a light peppermint fragrance. Twist up crayon style packaging means you don't waste product, and there is no need for a sharpener.

Shade Descriptions:

Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm in Coquette: A mid toned pink
Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm in Flirtatious: A darkened pink
Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm in Enticing: A blue toned juicy red
Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm in Demure: A light nude pink
Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm in Tease: A peppy orange red
Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm in Coy: A dark brown nude
Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm in Whimsical: A medium dark frosty cool toned pink
Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm in Ingenue: A retro brown nude
Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm in Vivacious: A dark pinky red
Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm in Provocateur: A cherry red

Although I think for me the matte balms are more up my street finish wise, I did find a fair few shades within this range that floated my boat. I adore Demure, it’s a really good dupe for MAC Hue with a little bit more pink. Tease, Provocateur and Ingenue are also very nice colours from the range. I think Coy is the only one that I’m a bit hmmm about. I think its a bit too brown for most peoples tastes, but you never know! I’m super excited about the Revlon ColorBurst Range relaunch in the UK. It should be out from the 20th January.

Are you excited about these?
