tag: my beauty urges

review swatch photo

Over the last few months, I’ve been pretty experimental with my hair before turning around and getting most of it chopped off at the end of last year. While I’ve always liked to play around with it, I've been more experimental than ever in recent months. I have a ton of wild beauty internal desires which so I thought today I’d chat through some of the beauty things I’d love to do but don’t have the balls to do it. I've made this into a tag and I tag you all to do this, let me know in the comment sir you decide to do it!

Hitting the Bottle:

Going peroxide blonde is something I think about from time to time. After my unfortunate incident with my hair going pale yellow blonde when I was aiming for CARAMEL blonde I did toy with the idea of toning it to peroxide. Unfortunately, my complexion is too warm and my hair too naturally warm. While in my head, it’s perfectly acceptable to dye my hair pink... going platinum blonde is kinda daunting.

Claws:

Now this one probably is something I could eventually try but the idea of having claw nails terrifies me and excites me in equal measures. On one hand, I think they look so unique, chic and styling and then... How do they wipe their bum? It just boggles my mind, plus I can’t get my head around the idea of having super long talons.

Fringe with(out) Benefits:

Another hair related urge is getting a full fringe. Long time blog followers will remember when I trolled everyone with a clip in fringe and I’ve been toying with the urge of running to the hair dressers and getting one chopped in. While I’d love one, I know how hard it was for me to grow my last one out. I think Alexa Chung fuels my urge even more so, She just has the dream hair. Sigh.
What are your deepest beauty urges? What would you love to change but just worry too much about?

  2. I get a fringe almost every year! I spend the first six months loving it, then the next growing it out... And then I get another one!
I've never tried another nail shape before, but I might try to go for a long, more curved shape over summer. I'd love to see your nails if you did do it! :)
And your hair looks so lovely at the moment, I couldn't imagine it any other way!

  5. I cut myself in a full fringe a few months back and hated the maintenance of it, so I'm growing it back out. I wish I'd never cut it, haha.

  7. I am the wooorst for hair experiments. In the last year alone it has been white, dark blonde, brown, bubblegum pink, reddish brown, dark brown, dip dye, blonde, brown, black, light blonde (in that order!!) Trying to not dye it as much as it is getting a bit sad. Yours always looks so beautiful!! I definitely couldn't handle the claw nails!!

  8. I've been wanting to get a fringe for ages (and try and look like my hair idol Zooey Deschanel) but with my hair's curly/slightly frizzy, the maintenance might be a bit too much and I don't what that whole poker straight fringe, curly hair look. So much to think about!

  9. Ha I like this tag, I got a fringe cut last year and it is such a pain to maintain!

  10. ahhh everything you've said i've done and i can tell you - peroxide is a massive shock at first but it's so fun you can dye it any colour or use silver shampoo to make it silver, and you can add warmth easily from it however your hair is so destroyed :( claw nails are amazing if you use your natural nails as they don't get too long and you can soften the shape. gel claws, yeah there's some difficulties ! and a full fringe, they didn't suit me and i always moaned after but if it has looked okay with the clip in maybe get a long fringe so you could sweep it if you wanted :)
I've always wanted to chop my hair short but i always scorn myself after :(

  12. The thing with hair is it always always grows back. You can damage it and then cut it and it's fine, I worked as a hairdresser for years and with just a change of colour or cut it can make you feel so much better, I always say have fun with your hair until you find what you really really like.. :)

  14. I have always wanted to get a full fringe back. I have had a full fringe two times before and my sister really liked it and my boyfriend really didn't like it. Soo yeah, maybe he knows me better than I do, because I have made mistakes with my hair before and bawled my eyes out because of it. :D
I really love your tag, because I also think about the things I would like to get, but don't have the courage to do it :D The main thing I contemplate on getting is eyelash extensions, but im still not sure about it :D

  16. I always toy with the idea of getting s fringe every three or four years (when I get bored of my hair) and normally regret is afterwards, it looks amazing when I get it done- but then I can never style it myself :(

  17. I have the same fears about claw nails! I love long pointy ones, but how would I get anything done? My biggest beauty urge is cutting my hair off, it took me years to grow out my bob but this year I cut it all off again!

  19. I want claws too but i feel weird with long nails, like i am not able to pick things, i throw everything lol

  20. Hahahaha 'how do they wipe their bum?' - that killed me.

Claw nails are horrific for getting food/makeup/general crap stuck behind them, don't say I didn't warn you!

(I vote YES for peroxide though)

  23. I always want to dye my hair, but at the same time I do like my natural colour and don't want to lose it! Similarly with my hairstyle I'm way too scared to try anything extreme and I still want it long. Such a nightmare, never know what to do!

  25. If I were you I'd get a fringe. The clip in clearly suited you and if you don't like it there are loads of YouTube videos showing you ways to wear it while growing it out. X

  26. I've been wanting to dye my hair a deep plummy purple, but I don't want to fry my hair in the process!
I say give these things a go! I could totally see you with a fringe and platinum blonde hair. If it doesn't turn out, you can always dye it darker.

  28. I've just made some changes to my hair, chopped off several inches and added bayalage high list nod I'm very happy with my hair situation at the moment. I have been toying with the idea of getting a lash perm, but my eyes are so sensitive that I haven't made the jump yet.

  30. I've always wanted to try the claw nails but they do freak me out a little, I also keep wanting to dye my hair back to dark brown but i'm too indecisive to give it another go as it's taken so long to go blonde. x

  34. A fringe is my standard go-to for when I want to change my hair, since generally I'm nearly always trying to grow it and don't want to cut into the rest of my hair. The first time I had my fringe I absolutely loved it, but every time I've had it done after that I've instantly regretted it. I love fringes, but they are so final, you can't tic your hair behind you ears, you can't even really have it all up with copious amounts of hair spray and kirby grips. No matter what style you have your hair in, you fringe is always there. And while sometimes I like it, most of the time I'm just wishing it was longer again! So this year I am determined to avoid the urge to snip!

And also, I'd really like to get a microdermal piercing but I'm just not brave enough :( does this counts as a beauty urge?
