beauty hacks : flat foundation brush

beauty hacks : flat foundation brush

the body shop foundation brush* & origins out of trouble mask

As a rule I'm not a fan of flat head foundation brushes, They just don’t do it for me in terms of foundation application. I think they are just so old fashioned, especially buffing brushes just apply things much smoother. None the less I am a big fan of using them to apply face masks - Especially those super messy charcoal or mud based ones. They seem to get right under my nails and leave my hands feeling gross. By using a foundation brush, you’re cutting out the fuss and the mess factor of face mask application. All you do is paint the mask onto the face on like you would painting a canvas! Simples!
Have you tried this technique?

  1. This is SUCH a good idea! Seriously, mind blown. I hate those for foundation but it's ideal for clay masks. Thanks, Lily! xx

  8. Absolutely genius. I really don't understand application with a flat brush as it just seems to look smeared on and crappy. Much more a fan of the buffing!

  11. I use my foundation brushes for this too! And sometimes moisturisers before my makeup. I can't believe I actually used to slather foundation on my face with one of these. They're so ineffective in comparison to the foundation brushes of recent years!

  12. I've been using my foundation brush for primer! I don't like the feeling of primers on my vingertips. But I'll definitely remeber this post next time I go for a mud mask.

  17. I'd never thought of using a flat foundation brush for that! It's such a good idea.

They're just so incredibly useless for applying foundation. I don't get how they were used to begin with, but at least I can put mine to good use now.

  21. Oh a great idea to use up those flat brushes. I feel the same way, I really dislike the way they apply foundation but I have a bunch of them in my kit that I don't use too often. Can't wait to try this out!
