spotty skincare solutions

Elemental Herbology Super Cleanse, Cane and Austin Acne Pads, La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo +,review swatch photo

Elemental Herbology Super Cleanse, Cane and Austin Acne Pads, La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo +*

I decided to give my skincare routine a bit of a revamp over recently and add a few new products into my routine. I often find when I use something for a long period of time my skin decides it doesn't like it as much as it originally did. My skin has troublesome twists and turns, flitting between being normal and breakout prone. At the moment, it's definitely in the breakout zone which sucks, but it's also perfect time to establish a crew of products that work. Here are a few skincare bits that have been rocking my world as of late.

I've been meaning to get a new cleanser for a while, after a bit of research I settled on the Elemental Herbology Super Cleanse. Packed full of AHA’s and skin friendly ingredients, this gentle cleanser is seriously good at exfoliating and cleansing at the same time. It's great at easing congestion and removing dirt and makeup, all while leaving the skin super clean. I use it morning and night, and it always leaves my skin clear and healthy. I've noticed since adding this into my routine my blackheads and congested areas have been reduced, plus scarring is fading slowly but surely. It’s a Gh0stparties favourite and if there is one person I trust when it comes to skincare it K-Jo.

Another recommended product to me by someone were the Cane and Austin Acne Pads. While I don't have acne, I do have spot prone skin. These pads have been a life saver over the past few weeks, and I don't like to pin point products that spot breakouts, but this is a strong contender for the top spot. These pre-soaked pads of glycolic and salicylic acid work a treat to clean up and dry things out. They do sting slightly on broken skin so be careful when sweeping them over. But wiped over my face twice a day and within a week things were looking noticeably less broken out and fresher.

Then finally I have the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo Plus +. Now I know I rave on and on about how much I love Effaclar Duo, but this is the recently reformulated and souped up version. This is designed to fade those pesky red marks that we all hate after a breakout. I find those marks more annoying than the actual breakouts most of the time as they are a bitch to cover. Two weeks into using this I have noticed a huge reduction in red marks, the clarity of my skin as well as it's overall appearance. It's my personal favourite skincare item, I wholeheartedly recommend it.

  1. The Elemental Herbology Super Cleanse sounds really good, I use Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish atm but would like to try something new for a change! I wish Effaclar Duo worked on my skin, everyone seems to rave about it but it ended up breaking me out really badly! ):

  3. I wish Effaclar Duo worked on me. It dried my skin out so much and ended up breaking me out even more, so annoying.

  12. I think I'm definitely going to try the Elemental Herbology cleanser - so many people rave about it. Unsure about the la roche-posay serum - there's such mixed opinions I'm too worried I'll fall into the category of people who have had awful experiences with it!
    Amazing post as always,

  14. I've been eyeing up those Cane & Austin pads but worry they might dry my skin too much (I'm dry and blemish prone, just to be difficult). I am in looooove with Effaclar though! The targeted treatment is hands down the best blemish treatment ever, calming irritation in literally minutes. Plus it smells nice lol. The Duo+ is next on my list - those scars are indeed an absolute bitch to cover.

  16. I have been using effaclar duo since i can remember and it's amazing with stopping new breakouts. Sadly my skin is already full of redness and scaring from before when I discovered La Roche Posay. Do you reckon the new formula will reduce the redness even though it's been on my face for a while? Xxxx

  18. as a sufferer of skin that regularly breaks out, i think all three of these products would be perfect! they sound like they work really well at both reducing breakouts and clearing them up both during and after to make skin a whole lot clearer! those pads seem especially interesting and i'm really keen to try them out. i may have to place an order myself to add a few new goodies to my skincare routine! :) X
