Building a Skincare Routine: products

how to build a skincare routine

Knowing what products work together, why you're supposed to use them and what order to use them is often very confusing for a skincare n00b. Over the next few days, I'm going to be talking about building a skincare routine from scratch. Todays topic: The Products.

The Basics

Cleanser: It's a no brainer that you are going to need something to clean your face. You want a good cleanser, designed for your skin type that removes debris, oil, and makeup. As Caroline Hirons always says, ALWAYS WET CLEANSE. Double cleanse if you wear a lot of makeup or SPF during the day.

Toners: Toners come in lots of different varieties from balancing, repairing, exfoliating and hydrating. They are designed to replenish and rebalance the skin surface after cleansing. Depending on your skin's need it's best to get one designed for your specific skin type. Therefore, they will meet all your skin concerns; otherwise you could be doing more harm than good.

Exfoliators: Exfoliation accelerates the process of shedding the dead skin from the top layers of the skin. It also helps with hyperpigmentation, improve radiance, aid dry areas and keeps your skin smooth. A good exfoliation session can really refresh the skin and the overall appearance of your face. It also aids how well the skin absorbs other products like moisturiser, stop treatments and oils.

Moisturiser: The moisturising step of a skincare routine is the part that's designed to put back the moisture that will have been removed from the skin during cleansing. They protect your skin from the elements and will help keep it supple and smooth. It's best to use one that's best for your skin type, and roughly a 10p sized blob should be sufficient for your face.

The Optionals:

Spot Treatments: If your spot prone then make sure to add an anti blemish treatment into your routine. Something with Salicylic Acid, AHA's or Benzoyl peroxide (in some cases) in which is going to soothe existing breakouts and prevent bacteria from spreading around the face.

Anti Aging Treatments: These can be added to you're routine whatever your age, although are most effective used from the 20's onwards. Designed to protect your skin from environmental damage, like sun damage and pollution. These are typically packed full of antioxidants designed improve your skin in numerous ways, from reducing redness to stimulating healthy collagen production and improving the appearance of wrinkles. The key word in Anti-Aging products is the ANTI bit, designed to prevent the signs of ageing not reverse them.

Targeted Treatments: These are your face masks, facial oils and lip treatments. The added extras that you might not use on a daily basis but can be used as a boost whenever your skin needs some extra TLC.

This week I'll be talking you through building a skincare routine. Including products, building a routine and my skincare routine.

  1. Oh man, I need to work on the toner step. It just feels like I'm spraying water on my face, so it's definitely a step I tend to leave out, haha! Oops.

P.S Misplaced some letters in the 'Cleanser' heading, I'm so annoying :|

    1. Try the Simple toner if you don't typically like toners much. That is what really got me into it. It is for all skin types too.

  21. Do You Need a Love Spell to Get Your Ex lover Back?

My Name is Vicky Lorimer, I am From Manchester in United Kingdom.i am hear to give testimony of how i got back my husband, we got married for more than 9 years and have gotten two kids. thing were going well with us and we are always happy. until one day my husband started to behave in a way i could not understand, i was very confused by the way he treat me and the kids. later that month he did not come home again and he called me that he want a divorce, i asked him what have i done wrong to deserve this from him, all he was saying is that he want a divorce that he hate me and do not want to see me again in his life, i was mad and also frustrated do not know what to do,i was sick for more than 2 weeks because of the divorce. i love him so much he was everything to me without him my life is incomplete. i told my sister and she told me to contact a spell caster, i never believe in all this spell casting of a thing. i just want to try if something will come out of it. i contacted Dr Brave for the return of my husband to me, they told me that my husband have been taken by another woman, that she cast a spell on him that is why he hate me and also want us to divorce. then they told me that they have to cast a spell on him that will make him return to me and the kids, they casted the spell and after a week my husband called me and he told me that i should forgive him, he started to apologize on phone and said that he still love me that he did not know what happen to him that he left me. it was the spell that Dr Brave casted on him that make him to come back to me today,me and my family are now happy again today. thank you Dr Brave for what you have done for me i would have been nothing today if not for your great spell. i want you my friends who are passing through all this kind of love problem of getting back their husband, wife , or ex boyfriend and girlfriend to contact bravespellcaster@gmail.com. and you will see that your problem will be solved without any delay.
