Thierry Mugler Angel Eau Sucrée

Thierry Mugler Angel Eau Sucrée review swatch photo

I think the fact that I got Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess perfume recently it made me completely forget about Thierry Mugler Angel Eau Sucrée. I thought that I’d hate it when I read the press release as I'm SUCH a woody or citrus kinda gal, but this has blown my mind. It's so different and unique.

Thierry Mugler Angel Eau Sucrée is sweet, like seriously sweet. I still haven’t actually had a whiff or Thierry Mugler Angel despite it being such an iconic fragrance in the beauty world. This perfume has notes of raspberries, meringue, vanilla and patchouli. It’s fresh and fruity with a slight chocolaty undertone. Girly and pretty, fizzy and youthful. The packaging reminds me of sweets and confectionary with it's pretty blue and white candy stripes. The star shaped bottle is dotted with glitter which looks like sugar sprinkles. Very good-looking. The only thing I don’t like is that it doesn't stand up and only lays flat. I know that's a little pernickety, but it’s such lovely packaging I’d prefer to have it on display. Oh, and lasting power is a bit iffy but not disappointing compared to some perfumes. I feel like it opens up really strong (fruity/sorbet) then mellows down to the meringue notes, falling slowly towards the base notes of vanilla.

So yeah, I was pleasantly surprised by this, in fact I REALLY like it. I'd not ordinarily give something this sweet a chance but I'm so glad I did. It's seriously yummy and definitely worth a spritz next time you are in a perfume department!

  6. I hated the original Angel (much more of an Alien fan!) and so I hadn't even bothered to give this one a chance, may have to go and give it a try now just to see...

  7. Reading this post reminded me that I finally tried the Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess perfume, after reading your review about it not too long ago! Soon as I had it on my I was constantly smelling my arms! Little out of my price range sadly so don't think I'll be able to afford it, but I'll definitely be spraying it on myself every time I go into a perfume shop! xxx

  8. This sounds like my dream scent! Can't wait to get my grubby mitts on it to have a sniff :3 x

  9. Angel used to be my go-to scent, might have to go back to it, this sounds lovely xx

  15. I'd love to like this as the packaging is just sooooo pretty but the smell of it actually makes me gag!! I loooove Alien though!! That is just AMAZING!! :)

  16. I've used up two bottles of the original Angel and it's my signature 'night out' scent, but this seems a little sweeter and fresher, would love to give it spritz. :)

  17. I've never been a fan of any of the Thierry Muglar frangrances. I don't know why but I just really don't like the smell of them, which is quite strange as I'm a huge perfume fan/addict and have loads of different ones x
