90's lips

review swatch photo

The 90’s are having a pretty big revival in fashion world at the moment so I felt it was only fitting to explore that in the beauty world. Okay - So I'm not talking about blue eyeshadow (although Kenzo did that SO well at Fashion Week) or dark brown nails... But there are a few 90’s beauty trends that are worth taking a bit of inspiration from for your 2014 look.

Brown lips were a HUGE thing in 90’s. Everyone who was anyone was sporting a brown shade on the lips. It's such an overlooked lip shade these days. But it can still be worn in 2014 - it’s just all about finding the right shade for your skin tone.

  3. I see Kendall Jenner sporting the good ol' brown lip these days. It looks great on her and something I'd probably draw inspiration from if it wasn't Spring/ Summer. I think it would work a lot better for the colder seasons as tanned skin and brown lips look a bit odd as it's difficult to find the perfect shade in my opinion.

  6. I always think that rosy browns are so flattering on many skin tones! And I'm a huge fan of a lot of 90s inspired fashion so throwing in some 90s beauty is definitely OK in my book :)

  9. I love 90s lips, no matter what anyone says about the Kardashians or Jenners they're defo trend setting. I mean didn't Kylie start this all off? Have to say I'm hoping that some trends don't come back, glitter gel for the face and those screw in diamantes that would pull out all your hair are probs best left with the compact Polly Pockets.

  13. Brown lips look beautiful on you, but I'm not sure that I would want to experiment with it for fear of making a cringe worthy shade mistake!

  19. I know people who never stopped wearing brown on their lips. Some people can rock it so well, for me, I'm not a big fan, but not because it's "out of style" but because I don't think it fits me.
But maybe, just maybe I will try to find a suitable shade for me and see how that works out. (:
