St Tropez Express Tan

Fake tanning seems to have had a bit of a beauty reboot recently. Loads of brands are coming out with express tans - cutting the wait time of tanning to just one hour. Armed with a mitt and few hours before I was due to jet out to Portugal I put the St Tropez Express Tan to the test.

One quick layer all over the body and your done. Fast absorbing, easy to see guide colour and minimal effort application. It has a slight fake tan smell to it but seasoned faux glowers have come to expect that. One hour produces a lovely light faux glow but leave it on for three hours and you'll be left with a deep dark bronzed look. I left mine on for three hours as I like a deep tan - I did feel like it could be a bit darker but it was still a good few shades darker than my usual tone.

I'm not the best when it comes to applying fake tan but I was happy with the shade and the effortless application. I had no blothces or dry patches and after 5 days it still shows no sign of fading ot going streaky. A big thumbs up from me.

  1. I usually love mousse tans. At the moment I have a *slight* natural tan, but I know in a few weeks I'll be reaching for the bottle. I LOVE Cocoa Brown tan, such a bargain.

I'm ridiculously pale and never used a fake tan and this seems like something light and easy to try first time round :) x

  5. great post~ I've wanted to try St tropez products for a while now. This express tan sounds really good and easy to use :) I'm not an expert at self tanning but as long as it is quick and simple then its good enough for me. I currently use the Clinique self sun tanner which gives a nice subtle tan but I want a darker tan for the upcoming summer~

Thank you for sharing :) Have a lovely day!

  17. One day when I had nothing to do I decided to fake tan during the day (something I NEVER do), but then about three hours in a friend called and asked if I wanted to do something. I was bored as hell so I went and took a shower and got ready to go out and decided that day tanning was just a fail. Well, the next day I woke up brown as if I had left the tanner on overnight! Three hours is all it really takes even for regular self tanners. At that point the DHA is all in your skin and is already reacting so washing it off only removed the color guide. All these express tans seem to be more gimmicky and an excuse to get people to buy more to me.

  18. This sounds like a winner! I've been enjoying the cocoa brown tan this summer, which is also a fast application. I don't think there's any escaping the famous biscuit smell if we want a faux glow!

  21. I really want to try some of the St Tropez products, but I have just never been able to bring myself to order them online. I found a great moisturiser tanning type product though, it's called Loreal Sublime Bronze (I think) and its really really great :) Probably going to write a review on it soon! xxx
