the best brow tip ever

the best brow tip ever

I'm often asked about my eyebrows. I've always had big bushy brows but thanks to Cara big brows are back in and finally I feel comfortable with the slugs that line my eyes. Today I thought I'd share my number 1 brow tip!

My number 1 tip with brows is to just go with the shape. One thing I learnt really on in my brow journey that trying to change my natural brow shape too much can lead to much disappointment.

If you don't have naturally arched eyebrows no matter what you try and do they arent going to look natural if you're getting them shaped up to your forehead. Also be really really careful when it comes to the middle of your brows. I spent about a year reshaping the front of my brows after a terrible over zealous threading session. It makes a huge difference to your brow shape and how they balance out your features.

Check how your eyebrows naturally fall rather than trying to get them waxed/plucked/threaded into a shape. They might look good when you first get them done but overtime they'll loose shape quicker and look messier.

If you're not confident with brow shaping recommend going to a professional and asking them about what shape they think your brows should be. If in doubt always go ask for help. It'll save you a lot of tears and upset. No body wants to be left with tadpole sperm brows? Amirite?

  1. I've finally plucked my eyebrows into a shape that I am finally happy with. I have always had naturally thick brows so I just go with it. My mum said the other d'ya 'your eyebrows are a bit thick aren't they?' Only because hers look like pencil lines across her forehead, haha. I reckon my eyebrows look okay now, I'm happy with them. I just tried to not get pluck happy! Jess xo

  3. I have been the benefit brow bar before and they help alot with the shape of your own brows. I definitely recommend going to one of them, if you have the money and need the help ha!

  4. Always ask for help from the brow masters: true! It's better to do that than pretend you know what you're doing.

Wuv your brows, Lily. :) x

  9. I completely agree with this. I hate it when I see people who have tried to style their eyebrows into a shape they're not! I have quite big eyebrows and can definitely relate to this :)

  10. Great tip that I definitely agree with. I used to try to create a specific shape and it took a while for me to realize that it didn't fit my face at all! Another tip that also really helped me become more comfortable with my eyebrows was that I shouldn't obsess with trying to make both sides look exactly the same, if they are naturally different.

  11. Brow trends have always confused me, how can it be possible to have fashionable eyebrows, I've always thought you should just stick with your natural shape, but keep it tidy...

  12. It is only in the last year or so that I realised how much eyebrows can really change how your face looks...completely! I didn't really touch my brows that much but now I am obsessed and I agree that it is really important to keep them looking natural and follow the natural shape but just tidy up a little. Such a great post.

  13. You're very lucky to have those brows! My hair is very dark but my brows are pretty much non existent, very frustrating. I love doing my makeup but I hate filling in my brows! x

  15. As someone with naturally bushy eyebrows I spent ages trying to shape them into a big arch. If I would have known this tip a few years ago it would have saved a lot of trouble. I spent a long time with dreadfully thin eyebrows and it wasnt a good look!

  21. Am glad I'm not the only one with bushy eyebrow problems! Some really great advice and I love the 'au naturel' idea to just tidy them up as I find it so hard keeping them in shape after a threading or a waxing! Lovely little post :) xo

  22. Oh my god. I work as an Esthetician and I totally agree with your tips! The amount of girls who come in and have overplucked their brows and want me to fix them is just insane. There's nothing you can really do except let them grow in, so it's best to just NOT over pluck in the first place. Especially in the head there!

  25. Great tips. It's so true, most girls focus on creating the "perfect" shape, when we are already given a great shape, we just need to work with it! X

  35. My brows are naturally about 1.5cm thick with no shape, so I've always had them shaped...perhaps too much and I have been a culprit of tadpole brows quite a few times. I'm now embracing the bushyness and growing them into a more thicker, less arched shape...but can't go completely natural...good tips!
