5 eyeshadows everyone should own

5 eyeshadows everyone should own

For newbies to the eyeshadow scene, it’s quite hard to work out what eyeshadows you might need in your makeup kit. Here is a quick and simple guide of 5 shades you might want to build your eyeshadow collection around.

Shimmery Champagne

At least one shimmery eyeshadows shade should be in your makeup arsenal and a champagne shade will work with pretty much all skin tones. They can add just the right amount of shimmer to the lid to brighten the eye. They can be used all over the lid, under the brow bone and in the inner corners. You can even use it to highlight the cheekbones. Try: MAC All That Glitters

Vanilla

A matte vanilla shade is softer than white and is a great neutral shade to own. It’s suitable for most skin tones and can be worn alone for a natural look or be used as a blending out colour with other shades. Try: MAC Vanilla

Deep chocolate

Deep chocolate brown shades can be used for a variety of different uses on the eyes and is less harsh than a black. Blended out for a subtle smokey look or used to line the eye. You could even use it as a brow shade. Having a deep brown is a multipurpose and a shade that any self-confessed beauty addict should own. Try: MAC Espresso

Pure Matte Black

Matte blacks can be used for lining the eyes, smoking out shades or for a super dramatic look. Finding one that’s not too chalky (as most matte shadows are) and one that has good pigmentation is pretty hard to do. But once you come across a good one I guarantee you won’t regret it. Try: MAC Carbon

Soft Pink

A soft pink eyeshadow is a must in any beauty bag. Whether it be a matte, shimmer or a high-glitter one they suit pretty much all skin tones. Universally flattering on most eye colours its one that should take pride of place in your makeup bag. Try: MAC Soft Pink

  10. This is a great list! I don't personally use a soft pink, but instead have a gold shimmer, which I think works better with my skin tone. My favourite palette for these is definitely Naked 2!

  12. I like the Urban Decay Naked Basics! The colors they have in the first one make some great basic shades and almost include everything you added here! I haven't really tried very many MAC shadows but I think I'll swatch a few of the ones you've mentioned next time I'm in the store.
