3 Winter Lip Trends

Pulling off Winter Lips

Dark Plums

If your worried about darker shades on the lips try blotting the lips off with a tissue for a less intense look. The just bitten berry lips is right on trend and the perfect way to ease yourself into a darker lip. TRY: Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution in Glaston Berry

Subtle Nudes

Pick a nude that’s designed for your skin tone. L’Oreal have a range of nude lipsticks inspired a bevy of beautiful celebrities of all skin tones. Just make sure you pick something creamy and no more than one or two shades lighter than your lip. Nobody wants to look like a corpse! TRY: L'Oreal Cheryl's Nude

Bright Fuchsia

When wearing super bright lipsticks always use a lip brush rather than straight from the bullet. This way it allows for more precise application and a neater finish. Keep the rest of your makeup simple and minimal so that your lips really POP! TRY:  MAC Girl About Town

if you buy one highlighter this season...

Uhhh, get on my cheeks. A soft peachy pink with a golden through it this highlighter just ticks the boxes for me. Great payoff for popping on top of the cheekbones for a dreamy light reflecting sheen. Perfect for Face and Body this is something you'll NEED come party season!

In the pan it looks like a right ol' glitter fest but when lightly used I felt that it didnt look crazy. Just glowy gorgeous and pretty. While it is a very "loose" powder - one swirl picks up a hell of a lot of product. The glitter did tend to blend away or get stuck in brush bristles so it's worth taking the less is more approach. On me this lasted at least 7 hours before a noticable fade. New favourite highlighter? YUP.

Benefit Majorette Blush

This has been in my to review pile for way too long before picking it up a couple of weeks ago and becoming instantly addicted to the stuff. A newbie to the Benefit blush line up is Benefit Majorette.

A super adorable blush in girl packaging that has a sort of tambourine style shape to it with a cute scalloped edge. It's totally classic Benefit when it comes to packaging, girly, cute and kitch. Benefit Majorette is a light golden peach which gives a subtle coral peach hue to the skin and a light flush of colour.  The formula is a unique cream to powder style finish which blend seamlessly into the skin and is totally fool proof.

As a lover of peachy pink coral blushes it was a dream for me. It really gave a perky boost to my skin which is perfect for the colder months.

Two Drugstore Kylie Jenner inspired lipsticks

Drugstore Kylie Jenner inspired lipsticks review swatch photo
I’ve been scouring the drugstore makeup aisles for products to get the coveted Kylie Jenner Lip. Matte, brown nude and super 90’s. While I can’t plump the size of your lips (come, on she MUST have had something done!) I can help with the colour. Doing the testing for you I’ve come to the conclusion of two shades you should consider purchasing if you want to get her signature lip.

First up is the Seventeen Stay Pout Lipstick in Just a Fling is a brownish nude that is subtle enough for day wear but worn with smokey eyes it'll be a dreamy sexy nude. It has a creamy finish (compared to Kyle's signature matte). Then a new addition to my daily beauty bag is the Maybelline Colour Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil in Nude Perfection. Similar to the Nars Pencils but less creamy and just as pigmented, plus £12 less. It’s spot on in term’s of finish and colour.

I’m still working on finding a lip liner that does the job of faking a huge pout but I’ll keep you updated on that.

Playdoh Perfume?

THE LIBRARY OF FRAGRANCE review swatch photo
THE LIBRARY OF FRAGRANCE review swatch photo

A new perfume line in launching in the UK and it boats over a 101 scents, including Beeswax, Fireplace and PlayDoh. Yup, PlayDoh. One of the more unusual things to come through my door as of late but a super exciting launch none the less. In comes The Library of Fragrance, Dropping 28 unique scents into Boots.

While I don't own Playdoh I did smell it while I was in New York and it legit smells like the stuff. It threw me right back to childhood. The thing about the whole range is that it's supposed to evoke memories and thoughts as scents have such strong emotional memories attached to them.

I have the scents Fresh Ginger, Baby Powder, Marshmallow, Moonbeam, Orange Blossom and Musk #7. All of which smell exactly like what they are described as. Baby Powder smells exactly like baby powder and Ginger has that unmistakable zing. Orange Blossom is my pick of the bunch but I would recommend checking them all out in store as they are just so unique. All of the fragrances are single notes, If you enjoy simple, straight forward fragrances I have no doubt that you will want to add some of these to your collection.

Some days I flick through email after email of nothingness - Nothing too exciting ever comes through. Then in pings this press realise to my emails and BOOM. Heart palpitations. URBAN DECAY NAKED VAULT. UH HELL TO THE YES.

I was one of the lucky few to get their paws on this predicted to be a sell out Selfridges Exclusive. Containing all three best selling Urban Decay Naked palettes, all three Naked Flushed face palettes, three Naked lip glosses and three dual ended eyeliners. This is a seriously covetable item right now. Imagine how happy you'd be if you opened this under the Christmas Tree!

Right off the bat I’ll say this is going to sell like hot cakes. Be warned, the Urban Decay Naked Vault availability is limited. At £180 (with £255 value) it’s hardly cheap, but it’s a beauty junkies dream gift. The waiting list at Selfridges opened today so be sure to add yourself to the list if you want to be in with a chance.

As you know I actually have all the items in this gift box so might be worth keeping an eye out for a little giveaway coming soon… Just saying *insert sass hand emoji*

I’ve always been a bit of a full face kinda gal. While I'm happy to bare all on the odd occasion, I’m definitely an all or nothing kinda girl when it comes to makeup. I was set the task of being part of Olays’s #everydayflawless week - which sent my little heart into palpitations! Everyday Flawless is all about keeping things perfected and polished, flawless but still natural. Aiming at to helping women feel and look their best every day.

Armed with the Olay Totally Effects Pore Minimizer CC Cream as a base I set to work. Available in three shades (I’m Light to Medium) it’s a suped up multitasking cream packed full go vitamins. Blended onto the skin with a buffing brush it seamlessly blended with my skin. Coverage is light and blurring, the shade adapted and seamlessly blended into my face. I found the CC Cream to be brightening and smoothing and I was surprised how even my skin tone used when I used a light layer. A luminous airbrush style finish that just perfects the skin with minimal effort.

As you can tell my my photos I don’t have the best skin at the moment. Favouring covering up with full coverage foundation and concealer. Yet wearing this base still makes me feel just as confident. I didn’t even reach for concealer or powder to layer up. While some of my angrier spots show through due to texture the tone was spot on. Definitely one of those bases for no makeup makeup days to give beautiful skin in just one step.

#tbt - Maybelline Great Lash

Maybelline Great Lash review swatch photo Maybelline Great Lash review swatch photo
Maybelline Great Lash was the first ever mascara I bought as a young girl getting into makeup. I think it’s that instantly recognisable eye catching packaging - which feels so old fashioned compared to more modern mascaras! The pink and green tube has been a staple in beauty bags for years and hasn’t really changed much over the years. The mascara itself is drier than most formulas and has a small pointy brush. Recently they have launched a new version in the form of Maybelline Great Lash Big which is a huge launch for the brand and building on the heritage of the original lash enhancer. Same formula but with a big ol’ brush!

A little boots haul...

uk drugstore haul

You know the drill, go ito your local small Boots and end up coming out with half the shop. Thats what happened on my most recent jaunt around my drugstore favourite so I decided I should do a haul video and talk about what I got. A lot of it is drugstore haircare, my personal favourite thing about lower end products as well as a few body and makeup bits thrown in for good measure. For the full product listing you can check out my video on my Youtube Channel!

Sorry things have been a bit quite on here recently, I sort of dropped off the face of the planet while planning othe things! None the less normal posting resumes tomorrow! Sorry about the blip!

autumn makeup & hair

autumn get ready with me

The weathers getting colder and makeup is getting darker. I thought it was about time I twisted up my matte brown eyeshadow, liner and peachy pink lip for something a little more seasonal appropriate. I also decided to do my hair a little bit fancier than my usual... well I normally do nothing to it as I dont care at all but I felt like it earlier so added a few waves to my usual do. Hope you enjoy the little get ready with me above! For the full product list, check out the down bar on the video page and give it a cheeky lil thumbs up if you fancied!
